His character is a concern. Moving on your captain, whilst not unprecedented, is very unusual. He'd have to have rubbed a few people up to get to this.
Let`s face it Brisbane have been an absolute shambles for a number of years. Put him in winning environment around the right people could change alot.
I have read a few posts regarding people dont like his leadership skills, if his hard on his players makes you wonder, is he trying to get players to pull there heads in and be something?

Agree. If freo wont give 43 then we should threaten to send him to the psd and see if he likes being stuck at essendon or brisbane. Doubt it would dissuade him though.

Hopefully that report is wrong.
yep... and tell them to look forward to us talking to vic player on their list.

Can't we at least wait until a trade is done before the toys go from the cot?

Edit: just saw Willo's post. Great minds. :D
But at least we know the media base a few of their reports off big footy so we may as well get a bit disappointed that we could possibly get a real sh1t sandwich right here.

We need to get something out of these trades to land some of the players we're after. Pick 60 ain't gonna cut it

Whilst I'm hoping we broker deals for Tuohy, maybe even WHE seems pie in the sky... We need to continue with the strategy to trade-in players that are ready to be best 22.

Kersten for a pick in the 50-60s is just shit, and perhaps they should force the cards for him to fall into the PSD instead if that is the case.

I sense the club may need to do some 101 training in negotiation if we lose Kersten to a pick in the 60s. He's a ready made player, was touted a top 20 pick, but slipped to us for pick 34 odd. We should be getting a pick closer to what we used on him to get him to the club in the first place.

Any pick over 50 is just laughable.

If ppl think for one second that with passes etc that the player that clubs want won't be available after that then they are kidding themseleves

Just tell Kersten to go into the draft if this is the case. Played 17 games and had 40 shots at goal.

Hold fire to it happens but seriously.

50-60 ... that is nothing. Thats like us having an extra pick in the last 11 last year.
I would compromise at their 2017 3rd (likely to be later than 43) purely because it will be useful in trying to get pick upgrades from gc for our other trades. Anything less than that or 43 and he can re-sign or go to the draft as far as i am concerned.

AFL.com stating Freo will look to give us a pick between 50 and 60 for Kersten?
OOC but really.
If the roles were reversed and it was Geelong chasing a player of Kersten's ability who was off contract, didn't play finals and generally appeared to be out of favour with the coaching staff in the back half of the season would you expect Geelong to offer something high?

Kicked more goals than Mayne last year and he returned a second rounder.
Nothing to do with Fremantle or Mayne.

Has everything to do with what Collingwood offered Mayne and the AFL compensation formula.

I have my doubts any club would have offered up something like Pick 23 for Mayne if it was a trade.

Geelong would probably offer something in the 30s, and that would probably be considered fair.
