Cogs just re-signed with GWS for 7 years. I don't know why, but this makes him less appealing to me as a cheapish premo Rd1 pick.

Makes him a lot more appealing to me.
Last thing I wanted was him and TMitch pinching each other's points.

Used my last trade to bring him in last week (for Luke Ryan) in desperation to avoid Milera's 41. His 105 and the 64 extra points he gave me pretty much got me over the line in all my PFs. Another 117 today (compared to Milera's 66) helped me win my GFs too.

Well done - you are the inaugural winner of Ruby's Boobies league :thumbsu:

Sigh !!! .....you get to the byes, and you try and predict which teams will have a better 2nd half .....chose MELB and CROWS ....well, that was a stunning success

Note: do not go to the Casino or Horses with me

Sounds like you're making excuses mate. I hitched my wagon to the same 2 clubs thinking they would both be Top4 teams this year. Carried 4 Crows (including Matt Ballistic when he missed 3 games) as well as M3 Brayshaw ALL year and still had Top500ish season.

My backline was leaking 130 points every week .....just crap, with Sicily, Laird and Milera

I also had Sicily, plus Laird & Smith all year + Luke Ryan averaging 72 from the time I traded him in until he got injured, then Answerth as my D6 for 4 of the last 5 rounds. Surprisingly Answerth did better than Ryan averaging 80 for the games I started him on-field.

You had a good starting team and a high early ranking, but you went too hard too early IMO. Paid crazy money for premo's priced at their max and cashing in rookies before they mooed. No surprise you burnt through all your trades so early. Learn from it and try and pace yourself a bit better next year.

No it was just the byes that stuffed me ....used too many trades for players i didn't want, because th ones i did were injured .....did not have 18 players playing in any of the 3 bye rounds

Brayshaw was :poo: .....covering for Kelly, who took way too long to recover

Your "Bye problem" was evident 3-4 weeks before the byes.

You keep saying that but it's not the case. Your "Bye problem" was evident 3-4 weeks before the byes. I tried to warn you back then, because the trades you were making pre-byes were making your bye situation even worse and inevitable. It's what happens when people refuse to look beyond the current round. Self inflicted.
We'll agree to disagree ....i had the byes planned, but injuries to me team, caused me to use too many trades during that period to try and get 18 players, which I failed to do

So the excessive use of trades, the bringing in of players i didn't want or had to wait for (due to bye) , like Oliver .....hurt me then and after the byes

Brayshaw and Milea werre just s**t picks ......my DEF was also s**t, because i couldn't get Hurn or Whitfield in ....that was the impact of the byes

Despite your claims, not having Cripps was not an issue

I'll admit, there's a fine line between going too hard early, keeping up with the pack .....and holding trades to see who's "hot" in the run home .....as I posted yesterday, predicting Brayshaw and Milera as having strong runs home at the bye was a fatal errror

I never had Hurn or Whitfield either. Well, I did get Whitfield for the last round but yeh Answerth was my D6

You're in denial mate. Unnecessarily blowing one of your last trades on Cripps' 2 week injury when you had solid bench cover was the main reason why it was your midfield that let you down down the back stretch, having to field Brayshaw EVERY week and sometimes Setterfield against 'complete' midfields whilst having Jelly laughing at you on the bench for FIVE WEEKS. Had you not 'panic traded' Cripps out you could have sideways traded Jelly out to a Bont or Treloar and you would have been 400-500 points better off, possibly finishing top1k instead of falling off a cliff. You're not going to get better at this game unless you are honest with yourself. :$

But I've owned you 2 years in a row, even after you tried (and failed) to copy my strategy this year with a bastardized, inferior version. :$ I won't be giving away my 2020 strategy this pre-season either, so you're not even going to be able to arse a half decent starting squad. :)
