Goodbye Macrae .....Goodbye Smith .....Goodbye Dunkley

As starting picks I sort of agree. Dunkleys a different story if hes forward. I think I'll go without all off them and make them priority upgrades. Macrae/Bont can get hot though but they'll be 650 anyway so it shouldnt hurt that bad. itll only be a matter of time before Bont gets tagged out or Macrae goes Wing/HF for a few rounds

Excellent.
Change it up.
Oliver m1 I reckon
M1 is a position we can probably have a guess at now.
Who are you guys going?
Neale the obvious option.
Neale is not a lock at all imo, price will be what 730k? That's probably too much for me. Maybe Piggy.

Be good too see some variety in selections.

In all seriousness though, Dees are probably the main SC side now with the dogs so stacked up that they'll fight for points. Clarry, Tracc, Gawn, May, Langdon, Brayshaw, Salem, Lever, Brown??? all very good scorers plus 1-2 rookies who would have very good job security. Could easily see myself starting with around 5 demons.

Gawn 1st Chosen (C)
At last years rates
Maxxxxyyyyy will be 759K
Locky Neale 730K
Piggy & the Gull 663.5K

That's 2.81 mil for 4 players, can't see many coaches starting with all 4 of them. I love big Max but he's hard to pick at that price.

On the cheap side Big Ben Brown @ 263K (maybe less if he gets an injury discount, doubt it though) could be good value.

That's the conundrum. Barring injury, you want Gawn in your final team. So do you just splash the cash and get him from the start, or wait and hope his price drops and that it does't cost you too many points in the mean time. Right now, with all the likely ruck options next year, I probably won't be starting him, but we are still a long way from the start of the season.

Not sure which part of this to believe. You say that the Dogs are so stacked that they'll fight for points (which I agree with) but then you name 9 players as potential selections for the Dee's?

1st choices are your Captain's options .......Gawn is one of the safest (C) options

After a Brownlow, and the heights he reached .....I'll be giving Neale a wide berth

GAWN'S SPECIALIST WAS "GOBSMACKED" BY THE KNEE INJURY HE PLAYED THROUGH IN 2020

Melbourne captain Max Gawn has lifted the lid on just how bad his knee injury was in the back-half of the 2020 season.

Gawn missed three games after copping a knock to his knee in the Demons’ win over Adelaide, before returning for the final stretch.

The ruckman said his specialist was “gobsmacked” by his ability to play through the PCL injury, upon his first proper check-up when the Dees returned to Victoria.

“I did hurt my knee pretty significantly in the Adelaide game, but I was already playing under a little bit of duress with my shoulder, but that one set me back, I was out of the team for three weeks and then I came back a little bit prematurely,” Gawn told SEN Afternoons on Wednesday.

Gawn is a reasonable injury risk. Could be a make or break decision at the start of the year, he's quite capable of averaging 150+ for the first 6 weeks and never dropping below 700K. In that case most who don't start him will never get him, or if they do they will probably run out of trades and have an incomplete team. He will need to get through pre-season without issue if you are to start him.

I guess it depends what other options are available (Preuss). I agree about Neale and probably won't start him at that price either.

Im saying that the dees are stacked but not stacked enough to the point where they will each lose points.

Mumford will be number 1 ruck by round 5.
Preuss is a sh1t truck
I have to agree here. I started with Grundy and Naismith this year worst thing I ever did. GG Combo set and forget :thumbsu:

The 20min quarters will help brown.
He does massive kms every week running his opponent into the ground. May do well at the dees. Only ever going to be a steppingstone.

If the best ruck thinks he will be a good ruck having seen him up close then he must be pretty good. I trust big Maxy that he would be able to tell. Preuss 🔐
