Not happy. They should have at the very least moved it to the Distinctive Homes dome. That thing sits idle there for the better part of a year.

The event has been taken over by undeserving schoolchildren. They have their whole lives in front of them. I have only 10 -15 years left to admire female atheletes before I become classified in the dirty old man bracket.

I'm afraid that time is already upon us. I realised that when the 19 year old girl at work was saying today that she is going out tonight to some nightclub I have never heard of and will be dressing up in the theme of school uniform, complete with pigtails.

I considered hanging out the front of the venue in my standard issue trenchcoat to admire the scenery and only decided not to because it is too cold to go out and I want to watch Pammy enter the Big Brother house.

Nevertheless, congratulations Smoovy on your thread reaching a century of posts which looked unlikely after a rocky beginning.

I hope you raised your bat in honour of the Thunderbirds and your own sterling achievement :thumbsu:

I haven't been so proud since I brought up the 1000 score on snake on the old Nokia 6210.

I was robbed! Although being in the high 900's at snake with a couple of thousand people doing the wave around me while sitting in one of the Australian Open show courts was definitely a career highlight for me.

Wakey wakey ...

you had the same problem Bosley. Thank goodness for that. I got through at about 9:30 and was sold out. According to the Venuetix website there were more tickets released at 6pm - didn't even bother with them. Not exactly sure where they would be though. They found more seats did they? doesn't matter - was always going to happen.

Have a look at the netball pages of today's 'Tiser if you get a chance. Warren Partland has ripped into Mike Rann about how he will have a seat at the netball even though he has hardly seen a minute of netball this season, then he gets ripped into the government about farting around with the courts and portable court at the Dome.

I didn't read the sports pages today. I threw down the paper in disgust after seeing that they didn't print my email in Your Shout ... shattered.

Go Wazza! He is right but it's always the way, a bit like Kev getting a seat at the Olympics when he is not even into sports. I was never a Howard fan but at least he was a sports nut.

I sent an email on a similar topic to the 5AA gurus this week about KG never attending SANFL games and basing his opinions on players' form on "by all reports". Guess who will get a prime seat for the GF tho? He will have to brush up on the players' names the night b4. Unfortunately they didn't read the email out, bet it would've fired him up tho.

i loved Howard because he did get involved in things like that: Olympic Games, cricket, etc. etc. and he ALWAYS got involved.

Rann just jumps on the bandwagon.

can't help that though. that's life.

But it was good by Warren Partland - always good for a read.

Sadly i don't have Fox, so i'm not sure how i'll go seeing the game on Monday night, was hoping for tickets (only been to one game this season - against Melbourne), but wasn't to be.

doesn't matter. I'm sure i'll find a way to see the game.

To go and see a game of Powerbirds they should be paying me $32 dollars.

I tried to rejig my schedule but alas, couldn't avoid gouging my eyes out with rusty spoons and hence have to miss.

About T-minus 15 minutes until the Thunderbirds take the court for one of the biggest matches in their history, certainly the biggest since the inception of the Trans Tasman League.

The girls are the only ones who look to have any hope of upholding the state's sporting pride at the minute and I am confident with that responsibility in their capable hands.

Go the Thunderbirds 2nite ... it was bound to be a close one but I reckon they will get up! If so, they may not be the only ones :)

What a win! 10 goals down in the first quarter, 8 down at quarter time but turned that around in an amazing 2nd quarter.

That was just an awesome effort, the ladies deserve a lot of plaudits for that win. They looked shellshocked early, I can think of a couple of SA football teams who would have had no hope of fighting back from that seemingly hopeless position.

I must admit I wrote them off when they were 10 goals down but like Alan Scott ... I was wrong!

Brilliant effort, after that On The Couch is going to send me to sleep.

The AFL seems so dull and pedestrian after that feast for the senses.

Go the Thunderbirds ... Those Kiwis have Plunty to worry about!!! :)

steady on

A win for the ages. Despite the terrible distraction of the Port Power players being seated where real fans like myself could not, the girls showed a steely resolve (what is that) to not only come back once, but twice!

After drawing level and then leading by 4 they then got 6 behind again in the third. I thought that they might have spent of lot effort getting back, but they had a second wind.

Anyone up for a road trip across the dutch to Hamilton??

Great game – does Beverage ever miss?

You obviously did not see the horrendus first 5 minutes where she could barely hit the rim.

Took a while for her to settle as she lost confidence to shoot. In the end came back strong and finished well. Was they key in the last quarter.

At the start of the game I think she missed her first 5 shots, the commentators were already talking about replacing her because she had the yips ... I agreed.

Full credit to her for turning it around and the coach for sticking with her.

At 15-5 down I thought having a girl called "Beaton" in the team was a bad omen ... in the end the T-Birds were neither beaten nor disgraced.

Yeah only saw the second half.

Finally heard Geva speak today when she was interviewed on 5AA. What a gorgeous English accent!

Between that and her "body of a goddess" .. I think I'm in love

P.S. Apologies to Mo'onia

Indeed Bosley. To hear such a lovely exponent of the english language talk to KG who absolute murders it made me feel sorry for her and her country.

Does Mo'onia know you are cheating on her?

Well as Sarah Michelle Gellar famously said in Cruel Intentions "Everyone does it ... it's just that no one talks about it."

Mo'onia's giggling like a schoolgirl in the background was another highlight of the interview.
