Great to see Blake out - hopefully he will find a heart muscle in the earlier game. Even if Ottens is out we are a better bet with Mooney in the middle and bringing Spencer in.

Having said that I reckon we are F***ED anyway - with our complete goal to goal line out injured we would have to do something pretty special to win.

Wheres the faith buddy?
The catters CAN win and they better TRY MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH harder than they did last week to win!
I'm amazed at the in's this week! No offence to Nath but I'm so suprised he is in the team. He didn't really do that much last week in the VFL. Good to see Lonergan in the team! He deserves it! GREAT to see Woja back in the team I'm so happy for him! Prismall got totally dudded this week. Gee I thought he would have made it into the team this week! Maybe his is injured or something coz his not even an emergency!

OK, I'm so nervous about this match, is anyone else? :(

I am definately very nervous about this game!
Surprised, as most people have mentioned, that Prismall hasn't been included. Also very surprised about Blake - do you think he could be injured???? I think Spencer will end up coming in for Egan. Happy that Callan's in the side. It will be interesting to see how we go......

All I can say is...suprised.
I'm glad to see Callan get a crack, but I would not have thought this would be the week to chuck him in. I suppose with the Doggies' lack of height he may be handy, but I would have kept him out and had Blake in, with him Otto & Mooney rotating through the ruck.
Lonergan at CHF, Nabbles at FF, I don't mind this in principle, but I almost would have though that bunny hands Charlie Gardiner would have been a better bet than Longergan at CHF, with Lonners dropping back to the goal square. Oh well, if we can pull this one off, then Bomber is definitely getting coach of the week!

Gardiner towled the doggies at CHF at KP last year. Wouldnt mind seeing him in

Need more from Enright, Jnr and Chapman especially this week.

I dont think it is a bad thing brining NAB and Lonners in. Lonners has been good in the VFL and bad in the Preseason. NAB was bad in the VFL but showed last year whilst also being bad in the VFL that he could play AFL.

What a weird line up. My greatest concern out of all of this is whether Ottens is up to it. If he is, and he gives the midfield decent service, then we're in with a real chance. Question marks whether Lonners and Nath can take advantage of silver service if it's there, though.

I'm a bit more worried today than I was yesterday.

Talk about the walking wounded. Both these teams can't take a trick with injuries.

Both captains out, no ruck division for either team, key defenders missing, it's going to be an interesting game really. Midget fest here we come.

Lonergran deserves his shot. He has been in the best 2 for the last 3 weeks in the VFL. Even with Kingsley in the side he was in line for a call up. I am happy with these selections.

Trust me I have watched alot of the VFL this year, and they aren't bad choices. Wocinski has been building and last week played fantastic, clearly BOG. Loners has been great ever since the NAB cup. Callan had his best game for the year last week, and he just does those stupid courageous things like Rooke . He will give his all. Nath has been blessed by injuries in the seniors, but he hasn't been woeful in the VFL. He gets lost out at CHF, but put him in the goal square, get it in quick to a one on one, and he wont let us down. If they give him space and delivery this week, he will go very well. His pack marking in the goal square in the VFL has been fantastic. He has great hands.

These selections are good. Don't get concerned by the Ottens BS. It is just smokes and mirrors.

Go Cats.

Welcome to the life of a Geelong supporter Jess.

The key this week, as it was against Hawthorn is the midfield. Our onballers were horrendous last week and that was where the game was lost. I'm not sure Nathan Ablett would normally be recalled but undoubtedly they're trying to expose the Dogs' lack of height in the backline. Lonergan has earnt his spot without doubt and Wocjinski and Callan add a touch of pace, experience and courage. Not the worst changes, but I'm still tipping the Dogs.

Hope I'm wrong!

no ruck division? what would you call street and skipper, you'll regret you delisted big streeta on saturday afternoon, and skip has stepped up big time, 31 HOs last week, sure it was against young/non-ruckmen but its pretty much the same deal this week

Did you realise it was a Bulldogs supporter that made those comments ?

BTW,we don't regret trading [not delisted] 'Dead End'.He had 5 years at Geelong and did nothing.Good luck to him at the Dishlickers, but even you'd have to admit that he's only getting a game because your other talls are injured.

no i didnt actually, lol :o he's actually in really good form and was selected in the team for round one, i think when minson comes back he will remain in the team anyway so that skipper can play forward as we dont have any other talls to play up there, streeta was great toward the end of last year and has been great at werribee and will dominate on saturday, so if streeta was still on ur list u wouldnt play him on saturday? prefer to screw up ur forward and back structure by having mooney and ottens in the ruck, dont think so

Yup, exactly right, sorry Jess! You'll just have to get used to it ;)

it will be very very interesting to see how we go with these head-on tactics against the Bullies midfield. They key, as it was in rounds 1 and 2, will be pressure. If we apply the clamps on the bulldogs then we'll be a damn sight closer to winning than we were last week.

Bring it on.

Dead right. Nath has to be played out of the goal square. When he plays up the ground he goes missing.

To make it interesting Shannon Bynres and Dale Morris should ruck for the entire game.

HAHAHAHAHA That would be great wouldn't it!!!!! :thumbsu: I's love to see that!

It's going to take one Steve Johnson to win this game for us.

Ummmmmm well if you have to rely on him then I don't think we will win. Gosh his so on and off it drives me insane! Like most people seem to be saying it's the battle of the fast midfielders! It's going to be a craZy game but fingers crossed that the skill levels will be better than last week. Gosh they better be! I can't wait to see Woja on the field!!!!!!!! :p

GO CATS!!! ;)

Good Form? Good Form? You are dreaming.

yes he was named in the side in Round 1, only to be a late withdrawal due to a mystery illness, but then line up in the twos no less than 12 hours after he was declared too sick to play. BTW he sucked in the two's that day as well. As the Cats smacked Werribee in the practice match. Much like many of the early morning games he has played at the Cattery, he loped around like a big man who was only ever drafted because of his height.

Street was good for Street at the end of last year. Which means he had minimal impact on a game, instead of absolutely FU%$ING NONE! Street is a hack and will always be a hack. You guys are flying at the moment, concentrate on all the good things on your list, don't waste your time convincing yourself Peter Street is a good footballer. Or will ever be for that matter.

round one for werribee streeta kicked 2 goals and was just off the bests
last week he was in the bests, how is that not good form? he may never be a superstar but he's tons better than he was at geelong and is a very good tap ruckman

Were you there?? I hope you weren't becuase that is a serious misjudgement.

He was shocking ! I don't care for a 30 hitout game in the VFL, it is what he does around the ground that matters. The side got smashed by 10 goals + and he was just out of the best you say. Gee thats something to hang your hat on.

He does not add anything to your side whatsoever. When Minson returns big Peter's career will be over. It has been 8 years to long for mine. He was drafted when Gary Ayres was at Geelong. Need I say more.

umm we're talking about completely different games, our first round match was against bendigo and we smashed them, and streeta did great, i think kicking two goals counts as good around the ground work doesnt it? the game against geelong was a practice match, cmon now u cant really base player judgements on practice matches, we lost to richmond by 80 points in a praccie match then in the real season we pumped them
