Selwood is a bit stiff, but giving him a few weeks in a 'lesser' league will help his confidence grow.

Glad to see Kelly back. With DJ back, hopefully Hunt plays moer along the wing so we can get good delivery into the F50.

Not necessarily. Varcoe is very good, sometimes, but I think so of his ploys last week were a bit suss, but meh as long as he plays better than last week.

And it's not like you'd know much about him as you support Essendon.

Nah not true, we need a quick genuine crumbing forward in the team, Varcoe can offer this. Selwood cannot.

I watched the Carlton game during the week and to me Selwood looks a little off the pace atm, this would eb because he hasnt played a lot of footy of late and the run in the VFL will do him good.

Be good to see which James Kelly turns up this season.

Well, how about that, Charlie gets the chop! A little surprising given that he wasn't utterly terrible last week - perhaps the selectors are starting to be more selective? Good to see.

Good luck to Kel and not a bad move to drop Selwood - he's looked good in patches but still needs to get some polish in his game. I am sure he'll dominate in the twos.

if there is one thing charlie does well at its presenting across the half forward line. even if he doesnt mark it, he gives an option.

but i think nathan can take over this role or perhaps a kelly type player

Yeah I was a bit surprised to see him dropped to be honest, for that same reason.

Kel can do what Gardiner does except better as well as be part of the midfield rotation. Often played by Bomber in the forward line b/c of his strong marking and goal sense.

I'd like to see Varcoe take some marks this week, even if they're just uncontested. No one seemed to want to kick it to him...
