I try not to put the whole looks thing ahead of the value for the team but I can see how you may have thought this was the case with my post. Well Hoff, to be honest I'm only really bias about Sladey thankyou very much :phahaha. In this case it's got nothing to do with Byrnesy's looks (I don't find him overly attractive hahaha) that I think he should have been included in the side this week. I genuinely thought Byrnesy deserved a spot after his resent performances in the VFL but looking at the extended interchange I must have been wrong. :( I don't agree that SJ and Kel are a class above Byrnes. All 3 have issues with poor decision making, disposals and inconsistencies BUT I don't see the difference or "class" as you put it between these 3 players. I'm happy to just agree to disagree with you Hoff. :)

Lets agree to disagree then. :thumbsu:

SJ Can turn a game and do the freakish things that many players can't. I.e. Kick a inside-out banana goal on the run with his left foot whilst doing a cartwheel, eating a pie and skulling a beer.

Kelly has a little more expereince on his side, brilliant skills (when he applies himself correctly) accompanied by sublime balance that can not be taught.

Brynes and terrific balance also but IMO he is not at the level of the aforementioned.

IMO the jury is still out on Brynes.

Pretty good summary...

Byrnes just doesnt fit into the team at present. Give me Stokes any day.
Unfair comparison - only similarity between Shannon and Stokes is their height. They are two very different players.

You guys place looks ahead of value for the team.

He is still too inconsistent, his disposal is poor, decision making at times is nothing short of shocking.

Both Steve Johnson and James Kelly are a class above Byrnes at this point in time.
Look in the entire thread and tell me where I said we should put Shannon in because he was good looking.

I try to be as unbiased as possible when posting in this forum, and based on most accounts, Shannon has been good and trying his guts out in the VFL. This is why I think he should be put in the side, especially when Tenace has been quiet lately.

What Steve and Kelly CAN do and what they actually DO when they're playing is very different. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what they CAN do. If they CAN do it, why don't they?

Byrnes kicking a freak goal in the VFL is NOT grounds for senior selection im afraid and as others have stated the jury is still out on the little fella. He has the potential but he needs to deliver something next time hes called up to the seniors.

I'm not just talking about his goal. He's been working hard in the VFL unlike Kingsley, Kelly and Johnson, but gets no reward for it.

Yeah skulling the beer is the part i have a problem with! ;)

Everything else is fine :thumbsu:

IN: Kelly, S.Johnson, Playfair,
OUT: Mooney (susp), Prismall, Tenace
EM: Riccardi, Prismall, Tenace

I wished they left Prissa in for a little longer, he'll be back though.

****ing idiots

Prismall's foot skills and defensive pressure is exactly what is needed against the bulldogs. Kelly had 14 weeks of doing sfa, he should require more than two to get back into the side when Prismall has done nothing wrong and has earned his spot over the course of the season.

Watch for Gilbee to run uncontested up the wing again with the two laziest half foward flankers in the competition recalled

Give it a spell. You honestly think Prismal is going to help us win this game more than S Johnson and Kelly. They are players with some genuine quality about them, this is a must win game, not a time to be making cute selections. Lets get the best 22 out there. The point has been made to Kelly, he returns spurned and hopefully hungry. Johnson has the ability to score goals which will need against the free wheeling dogs. Thank god Playfair is back, hopefully he get first shot at CHF in preference to that donkey McCarthy.

When were these changes announced? I thought Mooney was the only omission! Very, very annoyed to see Kelly and Steve Johnson return. Just what you need against Footscray, 2 lazy half forwards.

...so why did they not drop Stokes? Is he already in our Best 22: The Gospel According To Thompson? cute decisions are bringing in underdone or out of form players, not dropping ones with good delivery.

Prissa over Kelly please.

What a joke... Kellys footskills have been nothing short of horrible this year, compared to a few great Passes, tackles and -GOALS- that Prissa has done in the last few weeks.

We'll loose now, Kelly and Dog two big Slackers in for Prissa and Tenace. :thumbsd:

They were on the extended interchange.

Wouldn't hurt to be positive once in a while, would it? Everything you say is critical.

Still have to reward good VFL form.......Kelly has been our best in both VFL games.

Some Sh*t decisions. Ok im fine for kelly to come back in but Johno hasn't really done all that much in the 2s. The game where we need speed we drop the fasted guy on our list and bring in the guy that has two dodgy ancles. they don't give Tenace and Prismall enough chance to keep there spot.

Johnson was playing okay before being injured.

Nicely said, couldn't have put it better myself. If I had to use a combination of words to describe James Kelly i would say "may infact suffer from a case of mild ******ation" Same could be said for Cameron Ling.

Honestly, I have never seen 2 players so effective at kicking directly to the opposition in damaging positions. James Kelly being classy with sublime skill is a huge myth. We only say that because he is lazy and doesnt run hard enough or try as an AFL player should, so we assume that it must all come easily for him. Wrong, he is lazy and just generally shizen!

Oh great, Riccardi misses out again.

He would be ten times more effective, coming off the bench, than these two bozos put together.. :D

Oh god, where have you been for the past few weeks? He was best on ground last week and has been decent in every other of his performces in the seniors so yes, he is in our Best 22 already or do you drop players after a best on groun performance? (Aker excluded).

I don't think SJ or Kelly have done anything to be recalled. I would have preferred Ricco. However, Tenace, pace or not, looked a bit lost last week. Prismall needs to be a little bit harder at contests. Perhaps the broken arm is playing on his mind.
