Has Hall been taken? Has Schmidt?

Hall might slip to 58...

Crows talked about it for the full 4 minutes before choosing Kreueger.

Hall just got taken by Collingwood at 35.

Schmidt is gone to Sydney at 29.

Port got Symes at 30 and Luke Peel at 34

Watts is a magnificent get - he's the one I really wanted.

Why the hell didn't we take Hall instead of bloody Kreuger??

Scott Stevens had better turn out good as well, because the switch of draft picks cost us getting young Tim Schmidt. :(

Man I am EXTREMELY p|ssed off with this one. For once in our life a big guy upstairs smiled upon us and we had a chance to get a GUN ruckman and we go for a DUD ruckman.

Pick 58 will not be used on Mott now that we got bloody Krueger:mad:

Gee Sydney are really developing a fetish for South Australian players.

Add Willoughby and Schmidt to Crouch, Fosdike, Doyle, Sundqvist, O'Loughlan, James et al.

Willoughby and Schmidt are very good gets for Sydney. Couple of underage guns;)

Sansbury gone to Kangas @ 40

Not much on offer at 58.

I'll reserve my judgement on Kreuger versus Hall for a while yet (perhaps years).

I've seen neither of them play after all. I'll be following Hall's career at Collingwood though.

Surely Kreuger would have slipped to our last pick anyway? Oh well...

Draft Picks – profiles from Inside Football # 1072

Josh Krueger
From Glenelg
27/10/83

195 cm, 90 kg

Played U 19 and reserve football last year and made his senior debut this year. Plays in the ruck and is just an old fashioned contesting big man. Loves to take a big mark, is very athletic and played in the U 18 v U 20 state game. Glenelg Development manager Wally Gallio.

Fegus Watts

Sandringham Dragons 21/9/85

194 cm, 86 kg

He’s one of those boys who have a gift – he’s just an excellent overhead mark. At that height in a draft that’s meant to be a bit narrow for talls The fact that he’s an exceptional catch and All Australian you’d think he might be a chance to go top 10. His skills are getting better and he had an outstanding national carnival. Agility is average, not below, but not exceptional. At this stage he’s basically done extremely well on basing his game on marking. Dragons regional manager Wayne Oswald

I am still worked up about the blunder with our 2nd pick. Especially considering we picked up a ruckman that can play AFL with pick 58.

I have seen Krueger play and I would have rated him as a LATE pick at best but more of a rookie list type pick. For heaven's sake at the age of 20, he was stuck behind the likes of Matthew Golding and Michael Griffiths. He better come on in leaps and bounds.

I would have liked to get Mott but I am not too upset about him being snapped up by Carlton. I sort of expected that.

I'm assuming Ben Hudson was taken to fill in as a back-up while we develop Krueger. I think perhaps 25 is too old to be drafting though, but maybe he is quite experienced? One can only hope.

I have to say I'm disappointed we didn't take Hall, maybe the Crows had heard he wanted a ticket straight back to Perth after his contract was over? Anyway, Krueger has time on his side, so hopefully he'll be a gem.

Watts is the real stand-out. For once the footy gods smiled on us, could be a gun key forward. They also smiled on us by leaving Hall to us, but anyway...maybe they thought we deserved something after the Angwin debacle.

Good points! Can he at least play a KPP? He'll need to do something cause at 195 cm and not much SANFL experience I cant see him leading the ruck for us.
