I've gotta stop reading this thread. I've changed my mind again. It's funny I can't remember the last time I was so fixated on off field acquisitions. I'm guessing first time in a while I knew we couldn't win the flag during the season accelerates things.

No but don't you understand, he has signed or atleast agreed to stay, they are just waiting for all the planets in the all the known universes to align and for God himself to come down to announce it! Timing my friend is everything, they have been sitting on this for 14 years, I know 100%.
/Crows poster logic.

TBH it's much easier to take him at his word that he hasn't made the decision yet. I'm sure he's leaning one way or another, but I reckon no one knows but him, and any reading between the lines of journalists, club officials etc is pointless because they don't know yet.

I'm am not 100% convinced either that if he leaves the Crows he will end up at Geelong.

At this point I would have thought that the bolded is the only thing that we could be 100% sure of.

As others have said, plenty of of high profile out of contract players (including Hawkins and Sloane this season) have gone on the record with comments like:

"I want to stay here, I love being here and my manager is working with the club to get it sorted."

These words calm a supporter. I never had a second of doubt that Hawk wouldn't stay despite it taking longer than anticipated to sign the contract (obviously his sad family news impacted the timeline too).

Dangerfield has never once uttered these words. He's never once said "I want to stay at Adelaide" or "I'll sit down with the club to work it out" or "I think the Crows have a big future and I want to be part of it."

If there was any truth to the rumours this week he would have at the very least hinted towards wanting to stay in this morning's radio interview.

All looking promising IMO.

Its quite reasonable to think the tragic death of Phil Walsh might actually make Dangerfield more determined to be closer to his family. A sudden passing of someone like that hits you hard and can really make you reassess how precious life is with family and friends. Now was a perfect time for PD to commit to Adelaide given this emotional time if he wanted to stay, so for him not to commit yesterday makes me think he is most likely on the way to the Cats.

I've been feeling bad for ages. Really hope Cats supporters don't troll them if he does end up here.
And that's the point isn't it, both sides have complained that certain posters will gloat, quite poorly too I might add. Then denigrate posters on their board, adding in those veiled threats.

Then have the nerve to whine about what someone may do on each other's board.

Great point. Contrast it with how Sloane was talking three months out from signing:

“I am still comfortable with where it is all sitting, still chatting with the club and you know better than anyone how I feel about Adelaide and the football club,” said 100-game on-baller and 2013 club champion Sloane.

“So I am comfortable with where it is at and it will take care it itself pretty soon I am sure.”
What would worry me most as a Crows supporter would be PD has never given any words of comfort like this.

Its why a lot of Crows supporters believe hes leaving. Not once has he said 'I love the club, I want to stay here'.

The small comfort would be he regularly says he loves the club. The problem for you guys is he never gives those positive vibes about the contract being worked out. He's playing a helluva game of poker if he has decided to stay.

Agree. I just cannot get my head around why he would be dragging this out the way he has if he had any intention of staying.

Because, that's not the way it's played. He officially cannot accept an offer from another club till the trade window opens. Saying he wants to leave provides the evidence, especially if he said which team he wanted to go to, of a deal.

It's a crap ending to a career at club, but I'd rather have it with this way than what happens in the NRL
