No. What you imagine and read in the papers is completely different to the everyday reality an AFL player lives. I could go into detail about the fact that non ones gonna sign unless they know who the coach is, or that certain personalities within a list don't always see eye to eye. Or that it's documented and known by most in the industry that PD and campo suffer each other at best.

Also, what posters like you forget is that players are all too aware of what a business it is. If you're in doubt about that - re wath last nights 360 and take in goddards comments - clubs preach loyalty but as soon as you're no value to them they cut you off at the knees. -

Adelaide will delist 4 or 5 players this year. They won't keep them on the list because of the tragedy. Paddy knows it's a business and he knows coming to geelong now makes him a geelong legend for life. The hero coming home to save the club.

And imagine if - with a Selwood, another preseason into Duncan caddy and blicavs, a fit j Selwood and danger - we get a good year out of Clark, Hawkins, Stanley Taylor and lonergan. Well just about win a flag. That's a huge carrot.
Mate, if you reckon we are 1 Patrick Dangerfield away from a premiership, you've got to be kidding yourself. I myself have highlighted how much Danger could lift our club, but we still wouldn't be anywhere near a flag contender.

Even Gary Ablett, in the top 5 players of all time hasn't carried the Suns anywhere near glory in their 5 year history, in fact they haven't even made the top 8. It would be foolish to think that one player can improve a team by such a large increment.

However, I do agree that with a fit Duncan, Hawkins, Selwood, Vardy etc etc etc .... And significant improvement from Gregson, Lang, Cockatoo, etc etc etc....by securing Danger we could slot ourselves into tthe top 4, but how often does it occur that things play out so nicely for footy clubs? Posters have been saying that since 2012: "oh, just wait till next year, when we have a fit list and when player X comes back, we'll be much better placed". The fact that we've got to live with is that we will almost never have a fully fit list, and players will be missing, but we have to be good enough to cover those holes and play well enough to win a premiership.

The f club comments are made as too many flogs come on here make comments and then behave like politicians on the afc thread that is locked. You have been level headed here and on the crows board, but some of the comments made on the crows board under the protection of a skirt are feral.
Then don't read it mate ... pretty simple.

Just on the death of Phil Walsh, and how that might influence Dangerfield's decision, I was interested to read this quote from Talia re PD's decision in the Rucci article:
Club champion and key defender Daniel Talia told a charity function in the lead-up to Showdown 39 that he senses it is still a 50-50 call — but heavily loaded by assessing the work-life balance that has come to the forefront with the Phil Walsh tragedy this month.
If work-life balance, and by implication family life and relationships, are a priority, then surely this would favour Dangerfield coming to Geelong?

At least I hope that is the case, rather than Walsh's tragic death making him feel he needs to stick by Adelaide in their adversity.

That is the case
He missed seeing his sister grow up, and wants his kids around family.
His decision is a family lifestyle one

And the godfather of his child will provide fresh produce whilst the little fella is growing

Ugh.

I never said just danger. I said with scot Selwood. With a fit Duncan, caddy and j Selwood. With a fit Hawkins and Clark. Obviously a lot of things have to go right - but that's the only way you can win a flag. If everything goes right

Mahlepi - can't work out if you more excited about potentially acquiring Dangerfield, or more excited about gloating over the anxiety of the Crows board
What he's excited about most of all though, is redemption. He got it so wrong with GAJ, so the prospect of being able to stick it up some of his very own supporter group who've bagged him over a long period of time would surely have to be whetting his appetite more than anything.

You guys are making fools of yourselfs. This idea that he signed up and the club was waiting until they played geelong to make it public, but has to now wait because it would be disrespectful to full walsh is delusion at its best.

The best thing the club could do is say publicly he has resigned and move on.the speculation about dangerfield is at an extreme lelvel as it is but will only get worse as the season goes on.

The longer the season goes on without dangerfield signing the more likely he is to leave adelaide.
Round 23 v Adelaide in Geelong, if P.Diddy hasn't signed is just going to be out of control ridiculous. You have to wonder whether someone at AFL house was trolling when they created the fixture?

Wonder if the Kremlin will allow us to use pd images before the game like the gc were able to

No, definately not - But if Danger goes as a FA, we'd get what, a pick after our first round pick?

Hypothetically say Crows finish 8th (that's where they're sitting now) we'd get pick 12 for Danger - Doesn't seem right.....

Worst thing is the incentive the Crows would have to tank if Danger tells them he's leaving......
What Mahlepi said, it's not supposed to be fair. Same thing had happened in FA for all clubs, you receive some value back, not equal.

I'm making a fool of myself? I've never stated anything in regards to his decision. I hope he stays. I have no idea if he will or not. The rest of your post is entirely redundant because I already know all of that

mate - all boards have their flogs - You haven't done yourself any favours by constantly referring to Adelaide as a feeder club - You've been asking for it. I'm not condoning the stuff that's been said about you - But this is the internet, and it seems it's how people seem to use it. You should just stay the course regarding your mail about Danger and ignore the Adelaide board.

and while you guys went through the same stuff with Ablett, atleast you got two first round picks for him (after drafting him with a 3rd round pick?) Crows looking likely to get dicked with a compo less than the pick 10 we paid for him originally...
we should have got more then 2 first round picks gaz is the best player in the game i would have liked it more if we a number 1 draft pick as well.
