All clubs would like him , not all could afford him. Just this trade period Syd was excluded from trades. There will be clubs that could not easily fit him in their cap. There will be others that would be able to , or would be willing to cut and trade to get him in..... but he has a choice as well. Its FA , not draft.
Its meeting of the ability to afford him and who he would like to play for. That is not 18 clubs.
We are more likely to be in the can afford him but not in contention page. However if he is a cocky thing (which I don't know) then he would think like I am now with him in the side we would be in contention

Dangerfield would no doubt be a lovely addition to our midfield, but very few seem to acknowledge there is reasonable chance we won't need him in order to become contenders.

Caddy, Duncan, Horlin-Smith, Guthrie. Are all still young and everyone would expect they will be better players in 2015 than 2014.

Dangerfield would be icing, he would not be the cake.

Dangerfield is a poor Man's Joel Corey. I hope we don't sell the Farm for someone who continually seems to put his body where he shouldn't and doesn't have great disposal.

I might get howled down here or presented with brilliant D/E Stats but he seems to scrub a lot of kicks along the ground and has a habit of corking himself by trying to jump over players or sticking the Butt in the wrong place.
Thanks for the laugh.

What makes you so confident
Thread is full of people saying "He is a Geelong boy he will be home"
Where is your proof he is coming here? Hell why even have the need to make the thread unless you know for a FACT , he is coming back home
This absolutely nails it. The entire 'argument' - if you can call it that - relies on "well he's an ex-Falcon, therefore wants to come home". The only trouble is that is very little evidence that ex-Falcons do return to Geelong. Certainly ex-Falcons such as Luke Hodge and Jonathon Brown never felt the urge to do that. It's also the same argument that confidently predicted every year how Pavlich was going to return to Adelaide. Strangely that hasn't occurred either.

TC wasn't commenting on whether Dangerfield is / isn't coming to Geelong - he was pointing out that your comment could be read as a statement of fact, and suggested that your post should have been better worded to present it as your opinion.

Personally I have always said the odds are in favour of him staying , but I do not know. It a supposition but there is a little to much smoke to say there is no chance of a there being a fire.
There appears to be a very similar vein of confidence with Hawks fans - as seen amongst fans here - that they'll snare him next year.

In my opinion Caddy, Duncan, GHS and Guthrie are not likely to constitute a premiership winning midfield - even with Selwood leading them (and he´ll be 29 or so by the time that group hits its stride). I feel we need two of Lang, Hartman, Jansen and Cockatoo/new draftee to make it in a big way. So if Dangerfield can be acquired without selling the farm, it´s a no brainer.

Thanks for that respectful post:thumbsu:

It's going to be a long season this year unless and until this resolves.

We have folks on our board who claim factual knowledge both ways, none of whom are generally given to making outlandish claims.

Thanks for your post also. I guess this is the game us as supporters have to live by now. Our best players taking control.

Don't like to see fans ripped, even the ones we hate....it could be one of our stars next.

Though that said, please come home danger.

Willo_ , what was the vibe in Adelaide town over Christmas? Surely you could tell which way he was leaning just by the general mood of Adelaide folks walking around town...

(I'm only semi-serious) :D
To answer it seriously a lot of them think he is gone. My father in law thinks he will be a cat next year, just from the non answers he is giving and the general feeling he has...
and apparently me pointing out that at least he'd be at my team doesn't help at all
