im glad we agree on something. we couldnt even get a local kid in ritsechelli to come back home after offering bucket loads, we wont get polak, we wont get thornton and in the end we might get pick 30-40 for soloman, wow!!

What I would like to see is the club have some guts and go after some one like Daniel Kerr and really put the cat amongst the Eagles.
I would offer Pick 18 and Dean Solomon for him.

Christ, I havent heard the name 'Motumbo' since his days in the NBA. As for your suggestion, maybe a second round trade and Soloman for Kerr.

Why in gods name would Kerr want to leave the Eagles!?

And why would the Eagles want to get rid of him? They wouldn't even take Pick 2 and Solomon.

I was putting the proposal up, knowing full well that it wouldn't happen, but at least it would show that we are not afraid to go after one of the top midfielders in the league.

waste of time like this trade period is, clubs should be given 2 days to trade. theyve been unofficially talking for 3-4 weeks so why dont they start trading straight away.

From what i have seen so far some of our supporters crack the ****s after trade week because they simply overate most of our players.
I have been saying for months we are unlikey to be a big player because apart from draft picks we dont have much of what other clubs want. All these stupid suggestions about clubs giving away number one picks this year are simply crap.
The only blokes we have that are worth anything are the blokes we dont really want to give up!!!

For what it is worth the AFL like the trade period because it keeps interest in the game after the GF.
I agree with you the trade period is a toss. Clubs rarely agree on player values and the media seems to go into stupid overdrive with all the rumours.
If both clubs seasons have ended and they have a trade deal worked out then let them go for it.

dont know if anyone has already said this but i heard tthis morning that sheedy was offering port jj and soly for pick 5, that would be a very onesided deal in our favour considering solomens form and jj's age. if this were to happen i would be very happy, we could pick up selwood or luenburg.

I dont think there would be an Essendon supporter around that wouldnt be happy. In all honesty i doubt if this rumour has any truth about it at all.

Yes! What makes Cartledge any sort of sweet deal? Couldnt crack it for a game with us this year even with our number two ruckman out and his Bendigo form was hardly outstanding.
Someone may offer us a late round pick for him but his trade value isnt much.
As for JJ i cant see him atracting anything better than a mid second rounder.
