Well, it had to work in our favour...we couldnt just trade aggressively if what was on offer didnt put us in a better position. What most coaches say and do are two completely different things. We have to wait till draft time to see what we essentially have gained before casting any judgements.

the 6 picks in the top 50 argumement is stupid as we had pick 52 which was basically in the top 50. There wont be much difference between picks that late.jules101 said:

6 in top 50 is great. Solly value was fairly judged. This draft is DEEP. I could easily list 6 rounds of a mock draft which would contain good AFL prospects. Though it hurts me that Collingwood have been the winners during trade week.

If a cloke goes to essendon in the PSD i will not be able to support them anymore...that will be the final straw. Their recruiting has been ****house and now they're giving solly away for pretty much nothing anyway!! Get rid of sheeds, its time for someone new!
To be honest, for only a couple of 3rd round picks I probably would have rathered taking a punt on Solomon getting his body right and offered him the 2 year deal he was after.
Though he may have been trying to bend the club over again.
It is exciting though to see that Sheedy is serious about rebuilding this club and really putting an emphasis on youth.

cant believe out of all clubs collingwood has 2 first round picks. they'll get a mitchell thorpe type player and another midfielder i would presume.
