Not on any of the games that i've seen over the past 5 years.

If Jacobs came through the ranks of another club everyone here will have a different opinion.

He's a bit better kick and less courageous but apart from that they are one and the same.

Jacobs can hold his own 1 on 1 against good forwards, he's a good spoiler and has very good skills for a defender, there's many reasons why he's still on a list while Cloke isn't, all he can do is read the play as a spare man and teams worked out how to exploit him.

More than likely Cloke will get picked up by a club.

We could have kept Jacobs if we really wanted him.

Cloke one on one is just as good as Jacobs if not slightly better. Maybe Jacobs reads the play a bit better and is a slightly better kick. Splitting hairs between the two of em really.

I recall Dermie commentating on Jacobs this year after he was getting cup up by a forward and he was saying that its not his strength to play one on one and he's best suited as some guy who reads the play and chops the ball out.

Cloke is not as good as Jacobs 1 on 1, if he was he'd be playing for Collingwood every week. He's slower and doesn't even position himslef as well, Cloke has been found out while Jacobs does his job 90% of the time

Slower? They are both pretty slow. I reckon it would be pretty line ball.

Jacobs has been found out time and again. Cloke *is* as good as Jacobs 1 on 1 if not better.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

would we consider ashley mcgrath? i know he's nothing great but to me he's not as cringe-worthy as cloke or henneman.

I wouldn't have thought so.

He's made it reasonably clear that if he isn't drafted by a WA team, then he'll sit out of AFL footy and play in the WAFL.

no one has mentioned it yet and its not entirely about essendon but what does everyone think of cartiledge possibly going to the hawks through the psd, could we have lost a futur gun, or will he just be a problem for the hawks if they pick them up

They can have him...he's not worth a second look from our end I would imagine.

he has long enough to prove he has potential and frankly he never delivered, if he goes to the hawks and proves himself its not because essendon lost patience.

If you cant get a regular spot in the ruck with two other ruckman on your list injured and Kepler Bradley rucking instead then i think that says something.

I cant belive i am going to say this but here goes...
I would rather we pick up Jason Cloke than redraft Henno. Yes i know Cloke is average but at least he can get a kick if needed. Henno can defend one on one a little better but he simply doesnt get hold of the footy.
For our sake i hope neither are on our list but i really think there has to be something better than Henno in the PSD...

On my limited knowledge, which is really just reading Bigfooty, bomberblitz, chatting to a few people who have half an idea and watching the odd carnival game on foxfooty I would pick Hansen.

However, I am happy to trust that AD and KS will pick the best player.

A full season in the WAFL has prepared Gumbleton for the big league.

Every week he had a tall brute on him and beat blokes who have 5-6 years more exprience. And did it with no aggression.Just playing the ball and keeping his head. Supreme concentration the lad has.

I want him.If i can't have Gibbs....Gumbleton's the man

Gumbleton for me. But Hansen's and Selwood's names seem to be coming up regularly. Interestingly Leuenberger hasnt been aligned to us recently. I did notice though that Michael Prior has had a bit to do with him which is very interesting.
