Yep, because Thurstans and Polak are both better footballers than Milne. More committed, never read anything negative about either.

That gives us Lucas and Lloyddy up forward.

He's definitely better than average and certainly better than pick 59 in the draft. He'll excel at the Saints. We shouldve looked at him...young, experienced and versatile in the middle or down half back flank.

Honestly Longy you talk absolute dribble. Without a shadow of a doubt i would rather use a 3rd round pick on a kid than use it to get that rat Milne to Essendon. Glad to see Milne is the only thing you think is holding us back from being the best forward line in the comp. Stop dreaming, we have to plan for the future and Milne is not part of it

Settle down, sunshine! It couldnt hurt if there wasnt anything on offer and he made himself available. If Lloyd takes a while to return to his best...and it has happened once in his career (his finger injury)..we're going to need all the firepower we can get our hands on to post some early wins on the board. Not to mention, Milne up front and crumbing will release Lovett and Hird further up the ground. We're still not sure what Johns will offer us yet also.

bit of a joke though last years top 10 pick plus a draft pick for soloman, i would have been happy wth just drum. still think polak will come for solly

I think his contract demands may be a sticking point.

I doubt Essendon will touch him if he doesnt lower his asking price.

Draftees are signed to an automatic two year deal, all that means is the club has to pay them for two years. They can still be traded, however not against their own will. Barry Brooks is the latest example of a first year player traded away. They can still be delisted, but they have to be paid out of they are not re-drafted.

Sheeds was just on SEN talking about the IR, I only caught the end but KB asked him briefly about JJ and Solly. Kev said he's pretty sure JJ will be at Essendon next year while we're are in trade talks with Freo about Solly as we speak

because polak wants to come to victoria and freo is very interested in solly, we lose a backmen, we need a kpp backmen who can also play forwrad as insurance for lloyd and lucas. Is there any more reason why i should think we will get or need polak.

hmm mcphee hardly played with freo when he was there, i didnt even know the guy exisyed when we traded for him, i was like who is this mcphee guy doesnt look much chop to me, his kicking at the start was poor then i saw his marking ability and my whole perspective changed after he did another full pre season with us. I think the same could happen for polak.

Some guys however dont get it, polak that is, if he has a high price tag on his head all that does is places pressure on him, if he came over on 1 year contract and performed clubs like essendon would reward him, well we use to bar jj contract.

hmm yeah ok thats fair enough, freo are mad then id take that trade. our pick 20 plus solly for drum. if drum went in this years draft from all reports he would go between 15-20 anyway and they get solly who under a new structure and evironment would definitely offer plenty of leadership in their young backline, if he played like he did in 99-01 and then in 2003 they would be better off i think freo.

Just to let you guys know, Polak wants to go to Richmond for opportunity.

He sees himself as a Full Forward, not a Centre Half Back, hence not wanting to play for Essendon or Carlton, becuase of Lloyd, Lucas, Fevola and Whitnall. These guys still have 5 years left. Richardson has 3 at most, and is only going to get slower.

Except they'd be 12 months behind the 8-ball in terms of development.
They are basically starting all over again and then have to hope they get the pick right. Big risk when Drum looks a proven player.

your getting 2 for the price of one, solly has about 5 years of footy in him if he dedicates himself, we got dempsey last year at 19, this years draft is better. drum may break his leg next year? who knows

From what i saw of drum on the telly he looks the goods. I believe one of the commentators, maybe dermie, marked him down as future star. Hazy recollection though.

I would give up Solly and 20 for Drum but I don't think Freo will let that happen.
