a bit like woey i think, trying to keep the dream alive. would probably play for nothing as well, but that doesnt change the fact of how bad a player he was.

Looking at the list,I can't even find one player who stands out.

Duds,the lot of them.

Woewoddin had an unbelivable year in the WAFL. B&F for E.Perth, but they are the bottom team. Had he been at Subiaco or Sth Fremantle, who knows? Luck plays a part in the life of an AFL footy player.

Look at Medhurst. Two months ago I watched him play PThunder for Claremont and he had car loads of hoons hurling abuse at him from their cars. Now he's at Lesux Castle with the hated ones. Luck. Right time,Didak, right place!

Wouldnt say Thurgood is a dud. Weight is the only query...

All is not lost on the Gibbs front, Carlton have not gaurateed him they will take him at 1 according to his manager.

Thats what i've been suggesting for weeks. That Carton will take Leurenberger and we will scoop up Bryce Gibbs like a seagull on a chip!

Its possible.

Who can say for sure about who is gunna take the ruck for Carlton next year? Not many choices. The Buger will be in their sights.

And the seagull will drop a ready made champion on Windy Hill...Gibbs.

Hope yesterdays SHS didnt dampen your theory ;)

what was said? :(

There was a full middle page article about Gibbs in general. It mentioned the fact that Carlton had visited him last week , which they would anyway, but it also had his old man saying that he would be at Carlton and he would stay there for life if drafted by the Blues. Carlton took over Mark Murphy to talk with him so one could only suggest that that talk would have been about being the number one pick at Carlton.
All specualtion of course but i dont see them taking anyone else.

It has been said elsewhere that they then went and visited Leunberger in WA and they were still deciding between the two.

Said or reported ?? I am sure they have visited both. They wont take a ruckman at 1 !

Strange that Kevin Sheehan didn't mention Gumbleton in his rap of the top draft picks, in the same article.

The profiles where done by Sheehan but compiled by Jackie Epstein ;)

I think if you read between the lines carlton want Gibbs but are undecided about him leaving in 2-3 years and wanting to go home.. plus the fact that Gibbs can offer more straight away rather than Leunberger who will take 4-5 years to develope..
