Apparently Joel Perry from North Melbourne has been delisted. We should take him in PSD and get rid of Henneman straight away. He would fill a key position for us down back.

A few friends I have being Kangas supporters rate him as a defender, but not as far as KP goes...

I may be more of a Cain Ackland situation where he was offered a deal that the Roos did not want to match than him being delisted. He has the size and could be the type of player that allows Fletch to play in best spot at Full Back and as big of a fan I am of Kep he could be better used in other positions around the ground than being put to the sword on the better forwards in the league

i agree totally here. ben hart is an established player but past his prime, perry is just looking up. Give me a crack, either he fails nothing gained or lost, and lee takes chb quicker. kep is much more suited as an attacking tall, chuck him on the wing in an embley mould and watch him tear it up.

A little surprised Troy Schwarze has been delisted by the Saints. As a depth player, he has some capabilities and with his height and experience...would certainly add to a club's stocks. Anyone feel the same way about this gentleman with a booming kick on the run?

I'm wary of picking up players not wanted by their own, if they're not good enough for St. Kilda, why should they be good enough for Essendon, he'd just take the place of a youngun'.

At least Campo and Heffernan were still wanted by their clubs.

I dont recall Heffernan being in the middle of a tug or war when he returned to us.

Melbourne offered him a contract

Fair enough then. If Hart is being considered though, Schwarze would at least have more going for him age, ability wise. I think we could do worse if nothing else was on the table, providing we have a pick or two left.

The PSD is shockingly poor this year, I'm definately leaning towards picking up the best kid not drafted or just using 7 picks

Fair comment. Matthew Lloyd also alluded to the fact that players simply dont seem to want to come to Essendon which is something the club will need to address. I think we will take 6 in the draft and then the best available player in the PSD. It may be another kid who missed out in the draft, a periphery player like Ben Jolley/ David Rodan or an uncontracted player such as Tim Notting.
Troy Schwarze = Mark Bolton. Tall, athletic player who doesnt play to his size and is very, very soft. Must avoid.

Thats what I have been saying for ages, give a kid a 2 year go and see what he can develop in the next 12-18 months rather than recycle someone not good enough for another club. Campo and Heff were different (as I think you pointed out). Time to rebuild properly now that we have decent draft picks for our first time ever (and hopefully the last).

i reckon we should take a gamble on j.perry, he has had a year or 2 in the system so his body development is further advanced then anyone we draft, whats the harm? doesnt cost us anything in the PSD and what is better in their. This should only be the case if notting is not available.

1st choice notting
2nd choice Perry

One thing that hasnt been mentioned by anyone is the chance we could still draft Jolley back. He is still training with us and the word is the coaching staff are pretty impressed with his condition and his efforts.
He may well be an option at pick 47 depending on how the draft goes.

id prefer to get some fresh young talent with pick 47, if we get jolley, get him in the psd or with a really late pick in the draft.

Sheeds mentioned Nathan Ablett on radio this morning.

Said there are about 25 uncontracted players that we will be looking at...

No chance of Ablett appearing in the red n black. There'd be an army coming down the Princes Hwy if that were to happen.
