I recall a certain Wayne saying he had Mitch at 9 on his list (or words to that affect).

For the sake of his credibility, I hope Wayne was lying.

I think that it might mean that Wayne had a list of players he would like... Mitch was at #9 on his list and after getting Watson and McCarthy, all the other players were taken by the time our third pick came around.

Has anyone talked about his creativity? Just watching the highlights - the bloke loves to improvise with his disposal. Just hope he can match it at the top level for pace and strength, because his vision and awareness would be weapons on an AFL field.

All three of our picks rated a mention in Quayle's "Top 25" (albeit Mitchell was in the unlucky list along with 5 others). Three of the her top 30 will add that extra bit of anticipation to the offseason.

Doigs shouldn't struggle for speed and strength at afl level, once he picks up the pace

I think he's referring to Mitch Robinson.

Who said anything about Army tagging him... just run through him every chance he can get :D

ex-Rugby Union back meets AFL midfielder... ouch

Fair call really, and regardless of whether or not you said that Army could play as a tagged it is actually warming on me. He's quick, strong, powerful and rarely loses a one on one contest.

I see a lot of similarities in Clinton Jones from the Saints and not just because of the blonde hair!

Had to LOL at Prestia standing next to Gorringe!

Swallow is a man child...perhaps he doesn't have much upside. ;):p

I'm glad we dont have a guernsey that looks as shit as that lot

The system will no doubt spit a few of our kids out without troubling the statiticians too much, but I can't remember a time when I have been so genuinely excited about the list.

No dead weights, and even those who might cop a bit of stick (Thornton, Setanta) at very worst provide some mature bodied depth. No warhorses that we are keeping around out of misplaced loyalty, no projects players still lacking in the co-ordination required to run a few laps...every player on our list could conceivably play in our next premiership. We might lack a few generals on the field, but you'll notice leadership is an attribute of all five draftees.

Just think we could be sitting around going through the motions and high fiving about what sort of players we are going to transform Gamble and Polo into.

Membership is usually a Christmas gift from the family...this year they can find me something else because I am getting in a few weeks early! Glad to be able to add to the membership ranks by one this year as well...we do have a baby membership don't we?

You obviously wont be getting the baby circumcised.. ;)

Congratulations on the little addition, Kramer. Have to say you've been cluster bombing this place with classic humour for quite a while and I am forever wiping coffee off the screen as a result. Keep up the great work. This doesn't mean I'm sitting in a car outside your house or anything. :)

Same. If Russell can get it to Watson at high half back a few times during a game it'll be nice though.

Russell straight up the middle to Watson, Watson delivers it to a running Judd/Murphy/Gibbs who bangs it long into our forward line to the leading Henderson/Waite/Mitchell

How to beat the flood
