I think we need best midfielder.

As for depth as defenders, what about May? Hutchins? As much as I hate to say it, but even Dixon proved he CAN play there, but I want him to fight Gorringe for the 2nd ruck/forward spot.

I'm more confident when May goes forward but he is an option - not convinced he can handle the big forwards though. Hutchins I like but I'd rather see him play a third / fourth defender type role using his size, run and athleticism to monster smaller opponents and only pinch hit on the gorillas if necessary. Yeah agree with you 100% on Dixon. Much more dangerous on the ball and forward but a very good option down back as well - let's hope he stays fit and has a huge year.

I think the Suns will really regret not using pick 57 to zone Andrew Boston tonight. The kid is better than whatever they will get at 57 and he is actually from the Gold Coast! Can anyone come up with a reason as to why the Suns did this?

I guess the primary reason is that we have enough players on the list already that play the same position as he. Boston is not an inside mid, and while his kicking skills are good, it's just not a need in the slightest. The exception to this would be if his talent was just too good to pass up, like a Josh Simpson, which it isn't.

Both of our zone recruits last year play extremely similar roles, and while Boston has good foot skills, they're not as good as Allen's.

The other reason is that we need mature players still, which is what we'll be using #57 on.

EDIT: Just thinking on this, I think Boston was pretty similar to Pete Yagmoor that we traded to the Pies yesterday? I can understand the idea of wanting to draft a player from the Coast, but not if it's going to fill us with excess needs. Especially since we have to downsize on anyrate.

A bunch of the players were at the beach today, met Aaron Hall and Karmichael Hunt playing basketball at Kurrawa Surf Club! Both very nice guys, but they hadn't a clue as to who they thought we were drafting. Also saw some 2xu training gear, the new white hats look nice.
