And this has been my point all along - which they like to delete from their minds amongst other things - is that the image it creates for players, young and old, around the league in an era of change and player mobility is that GCS will get you in, but you can never leave easily for any reason.
Go Catters
Sort of sounds like they are "Hotel Goldcoastalifornia " .....
My feeling is they should do what ever they feel is in their best interest.
From our pov with experience and history ..we take the stance that losing a player thru social management will be swings and roundabouts because players will pass on info to other players , players manager he same ... and a rep as good professional play to go to is a good thing to have when trying to lure playrs as a destination club. Atm Gold Coast is far from a destination club , they appear more concerned with plugging leakage of players that they already have... and to announce to other clubs to look elsewhere away from their contracted players.
In other words they are more concerned with not looking like pushovers rather than being concerned with being a professional for some future players.. that they don't have on their books yet. Considering they are still trying to establish themselves etc... while the likes of us and Hawks etc really have a solid foundation of support.. they probably have more a siege mentality ..after all nearly sports on the GC have failed haven't they?
and if they look like they are easy meat this year... they will be under all sorts of attack with KK , 2mp and Lynch etc. in the near future.
