I like murdoch but he is hardly not replaceable. For the right deal i am ok with it.
If you are as one sided as Murdoch you must simply excel in another discipline of the game to be a valuable player and Jordan doesn't,no doubt he has improved and I like him as well, but if he's above bottom 6 at your club you are going no where. We won't get much for him.

Gazza is one good hip & shoulder or fierce tackle away from being finished.
His ability to take the field could finish overnight.
If the players looked at it like that half wouldn't turn up game day.

And this has been my point all along - which they like to delete from their minds amongst other things - is that the image it creates for players, young and old, around the league in an era of change and player mobility is that GCS will get you in, but you can never leave easily for any reason.

Go Catters
Sort of sounds like they are "Hotel Goldcoastalifornia " .....

My feeling is they should do what ever they feel is in their best interest.
From our pov with experience and history ..we take the stance that losing a player thru social management will be swings and roundabouts because players will pass on info to other players , players manager he same ... and a rep as good professional play to go to is a good thing to have when trying to lure playrs as a destination club. Atm Gold Coast is far from a destination club , they appear more concerned with plugging leakage of players that they already have... and to announce to other clubs to look elsewhere away from their contracted players.

In other words they are more concerned with not looking like pushovers rather than being concerned with being a professional for some future players.. that they don't have on their books yet. Considering they are still trying to establish themselves etc... while the likes of us and Hawks etc really have a solid foundation of support.. they probably have more a siege mentality ..after all nearly sports on the GC have failed haven't they?

and if they look like they are easy meat this year... they will be under all sorts of attack with KK , 2mp and Lynch etc. in the near future.

Do we really need a 34 years old who probably only has one year, two years max in him? Would much prefer to pick someone from the draft.
id prefer the draft as well

but the club needs to sell false hope again after another dismal finals series

what better way than to bring the favourite son back

If you're talking about his shoulder he's had it fused.

He never had hamstring issues either.

He is at least very durable and hardworking so he may have some trade value but i largely agree with you.

Ohhh you are going to trigger Mr Bods something bad mate...
I'm not sure whether anyone heard the OX on SEN the other day back me up.

He said something along the lines of, and I'll paraphrase. 'I was speaking to one of Ablett Jnr's mates In July and little Gaz told him that he's going to save his body for when he returns home.'

Ablett never did his shoulder, his plan started 3 years ago, he has been essentially in a freezer frozen in time awaiting his return home, so we are actually getting a 30 year old Ablett in his prime.

Genius Gaz, genius!!
Story checks out!

This will get done you'd think for a Lang or Murdoch.

If he can stay fit (and that's a huge if) he'd almost get us a flag.

I reckon he hasn't been happy for a while at the GC and he proberbly could have played more games than he did.

Send Lang or Murdoch and a draft pick, and get GAJ with Fiorini.

Then it doesn't matter if Motlop goes. Fiorini would be excellent on the wing for us.

Name one above average skill Lang possesses. He's another who can't get on the field so supporters start creating their own image of what he can do - Smedts, Cowan experienced the same.
and when they do get on the field and dont perform those same supporters say they do the 1 percenters well and thats why they are in the team - kersten comes to mind

people are just assuming he aint going to decline next year. his dad declined significantly between 33 and 34. it will more likely then not happen to gary next year as well.
