Re: Official GVFL thread

And I also noticed that the Rochy ressies are trying to qualify some senior blokes for a tilt at the flag - Bubb was named in both 1's and 2's...Not the proper way to qualify blokes but they are taking advantage of this loophole. Will be very hard to beat come September.
Bubb had played the first dozen games of the year in the ressies so would have already qualified. They aren't trying to do anything suss at all.

I assume he was named in the 1's because someone dropped out on game day.

I'm not sure, but I think Lobb was dropped as well.

wat bout the 2's beardo can they win the granny
They looked great in the 2 games I watched, mate. They have some pretty good players on every line. Don't know if they can win the flag, but they have shown they are a team of fighters, so with that attitude, anything is possible.

Bubby needed one more game so he played the first quarter in the 2s. Lobby was dropped to increased partying. Haitsma was a late inclusion in the 1s with mark watson back injury.
Is there a set amount of games to be played in the 2s to quailfy and if so is there a limit on the number of games in the 1s

I think it's 6 games to qualify.

Do you think Lobb will be there next year?

No. with eaglehawk looking hot and maybe a flag contender its hard to see the maggot round rochy rec for any more that he needs to be
speaking to him saturday night loves it at rochy loves dirty willnot be at eaglehawk next year hopefully be at rochester next year going against the old mans wishes of course found it hard this year because of the step up in the leagues but will be a better player because people forget he is still only 22. Finding it hard to fit in because he is not a rochy boy and with tank and bowen being the go to blokes bit frustrating but if not at rochy still wants to stay in gv because a lot to prove to people. But if was to leave because of lack of interest from rochy or any other club would probably try at south bendigo because all his junior teammates play there

bubb was played in the 2nds for the first half to get some footy under his belt. williams often does this with young senior players who dont see as much game time as more experienced senior players, nothing to do with qualifying for 2nds finals.

lobb will most likely stay at rochy next year. the club has received him well and hes indicated he really enjoys playing footy at rochy. he's a good a player and will obviously take time to work out rochys playing style. played 2s on the weekend after coming back from a fractured cheek bone.

From the horses mouth and quote " I'm going to lose it man, I'll come out this week and get reported for 6 weeks" he's pretty concerned bout his football and is dedicated but he wont play at rochy next year, due to coaching staff and some of "THE GROUP" of players that dont rate him.

sounds like a sook and has also an attitude problem:confused:
with blokes like that, Rochy would be better off without him:thumbsu:

Swans
Rochy
Seymour
Mooroopna
Benalla
Euroa
----------
United
Echuca
Mansfield
Shepp Bears
Kyabram
Tatura

few of us bit of the mark
Thanks for digging this up wizza. Yeah I was a bit out with some of these, especially United & Echuca. Reckon most of us would have had Rochy right up there at the start of the year?

For what it's worth, my AFL tips have also been pretty ordinary. :thumbsu:

Re: Official GVFL thread

Is the Swans bandwagon still operating, not all the hype about them any more. 4 weeks back a lot of you guys had them penciled in for the flag. Maybe a few doubts creeping in!!! Personally think the top 6 is very even and difficult to get a form line, with sides beating one side but losing to another. Feel Seymour and Echuca coming good at right time of year though. Interested to know why people think one side may be better than others in the top six or why people feel one side may win the flag and other may not.

Losing to Seymour by 10 pts with 9 players out isn't a bad result.

Left foot..I can assure you mate that the bandwagon is still rolling. I have posted a couple of times since they have had a few losses that I am still on them and am prepared to cop the shaky tag particularly given recent finals history.

Injuries at the moment..they'll come back progressively and the boys will then be ready for a full on full on tilt at the big one by finals time.

That said..it will be a cracker of a finals series..

Was certainly a good effort to get so close to Seymour on their home turf, but when you're leading by nearly 5 goals well into the 3rd quarter and end up losing must still be disappointing.
I guess the main thing that matters now, is how many of these 9 players can get back into the team? It's rather scary to think that the Swans can improve big time from what i seen last Saturday!

Re: Official GVFL thread

His hand isnt healing to well and will struggle to play again this year.
I have the inside scoop and its a bit like the transformers, more to meets the eye, Ben Tremellans hand is 100% healed and he is right to play, so that causes you to ask the question why isnt he being played and what is going on at Euroa ???????????
