We hate Kendall like we hate Coppell (and not coz he's an ex-Rag either!). I would've loved it if Kendall got Everton relegated, the fact that he failed is some consolation.

Your mates got taunted? Hehe they got off lightly!:D Wot were they doing roaming the streets of Moss Side anyway:confused:

Any part of town would be better than Moss Side I'd say :).

Let's imagine that last season's title race went down to the final game and a last minute Everton winner would have given Arsenal the title. I would love it to see the looks on the Mancs' faces, love it!

I'd disagree with that. Sure the Kendall thing is there but if anything I'd say a lot of blues sympathise with Everton as another fallen giant, struggling to succeed in the same city as an evil red media darling full of plastic bandwagoning gloryhunters.

Unlike other rivalries, the divisions in the city of Liverpool are not clear cut- even families are mixed, more or less. Something you probably won't find in Sheffield or Manchester, but I could be wrong.
No divisions in Manchester. People from Manchester are blue, people from outside are red, simple ;) Seriously I think a lot of the aggro between the two sides comes from people outside Manchester, and from the internet hoolies. Red and blue, in general (derby day excepted) get along fine in Manchester.

If a few taunts is the worst they got coming out of Moss Side they have done pretty well. I used to live in the suburb next to Moss Side, and while it is a bit rough around the edges I reckon it's reputation is overstated. Besides we are really quite a pleasant lot, we wouldn't involve ourselves in those typesof shenanigans. ;)

As I posted before, things between Liverpool and Everton changed after Heysel. Liverpool and Everton fans used to watch the other clubs games if their own team was playing away. And both sets of fans would go and support Tranmere Rovers if neither Everton or Liverpool were at home.

Older United fans on the mailing lists would speak of the 1950s and 1960s when they would go and see City play if United were away, with City fans heading to Old Trafford if City were away. But from the United viewpoint, there is too much bad blood for them to see City these days.

Lovely work Stam. On that note...1-0 to United.
And it ended up being 2-1 to United, and the commentary appeared to note that Dudek was at fault for Gigg's second goal in that the ball went straight through him.

Bitterly disappointing! It took two goals from Giggs to finally wake us up and then we looked like scoring half a dozen times in the last 15-20 minutes.

We were completely on top for the first 25 or so minutes yet could hardly trouble Howard. I thought Dudek was a deer caught in headlights with the first goal, he looked like he was unsure to go or not. As if he expected RVN to get a head on it, of course RVN completely missed it and it easily found it's way into the net.

Second goal was poor defending. Pongolle though was excellent creating the Reds only goal after Gerrard who was also excellent put him through with a great ball. Kewell got the goal he deserved, but after that it was all Liverpool and we should have gone level when Pongolle went down in the box.

I know Im a Liverpool supporter but I thought it was a pretty clear penalty, on the replay you can see that Ferdinand doesnt get a touch on the ball and the only person who did get a touch on it was Pongolle who was then sent crashing to the ground. Clear penalty but it wasnt paid. Then of course Heskey slipping when he should have put us level with a minute to go :(

I thought we deserved a point, wasnt to be and we now face a huge uphill battle to get champions league football.

I don't think it was a penalty - there may have been contact, but if there was it was very slight and not enough to bring down a player. I thought Pongolle probably went down with momentum more than anything (quick bastard!) and ref Poll made a very good decision under pressure. Liverpool had a lot of possession, but they didn't really dominate as they weren't breaking United open at all. Keane and P Neville were pretty content to sit deep and give Liverpool possession in the first half, cos they weren't doing a lot with it. Last 10 minutes was fantastic from both sides, Liverpool probably deserved a point but that's the way the cookie crumbles i guess...

So the two United goals were due to luck and Liverpool mistakes, but the one Liverpool goal was "excellent" and "great". Damn, it sounds like you should have won 3-0; how ever did United win!?

You looked like scoring half a dozen times in the first quarter? Ha! We let you have the possession, sat back and picked off your bad passes. I'm sure Tim Howard wasn't worried by anything that happened in the first half.

Finally, there was no penalty. I don't think it was a penalty, and every media outlet I have read this morning has dismissed it.

You didn't deserve a point. You're destined for another year of half-baked European football (if you're lucky) and your club is going to grin, pretend everything is alright and keep Houllier in a job.

Didn't deserve a point? Come off it Hitman, we had 61% of the possession in the (dreary) first half, and created quite a few good chances in the 2nd.

I'm very disappointed, the difference in the class of finishing was the gap in the end. Emile Heskey can f*ck off - I've had it with him. Even I could have scored that goal, to not even put it on target is pathetic.

Dudek was ordinary again, but nothing new there. Traore was all at sea marking Giggs - yeah he made that great stop but what about the rest of the match?

Rest of the defence did well (Hyypia back to his best, flogged Van Nistelroy). Midfield was reasonable, Kewell and Gerarrd very good.

I think we have to start Sinama-Pongolle if Owen doesn't play, otherwise we have no chance of scoring.

I think United would be delighted to escape with a win after not playing to their best. RVN was out of touch, Forlan's ball distribution was ordinary, and the defence looked shaky. But Keane and Silvestre were very good for mine.

Very hard result to take, but well done United. If you take your chances you will win. :(

As for the penalty, hard to say. Thought the ref did a pretty good job overall in a tough fixture.

Awww shucks Jod. If Owen had played and if he took all his chances......bwahahahahahahahaha....8th and sinking......14 years and counting.......bwahahahahahahaha

And now, to a Liverpool fan who actually knows what he's talking about......

Not that you actually created any chances with all that possession in the first half. No chances, no goals, can't see how you can complain.

Ironically, I thought United played like Houllier's "get them all behind the ball".....perhaps Fergie had Liverpool's Bucharest mud bath in mind. Let you guys run out of petrol and attack in the 2nd half. If that was his thinking, then it worked a treat.

RVN didn't have a good game, Kewell was probably Liverpool's best, but I disagree with Gerrard. He did get the ball in the first half, but did little with it. In the second half, he got overrun by Keane and Phizza when it mattered.

I like Pongolle's enthusiasm, and he and TLT didn't lie down. But you guys should probably avoid any Jod23ish declarations of their star status until they do the business over a few seasons. Blokes like Berger and Riise shone for a season before disappearing.

I'm happy if we take a point out of Anfield. To take three points is, to borrow from you, delightful.

Change the last result to Liverpool 1-2 Manchester United, and it's pretty eerie huh?

Even more eerie is this:

In Jod's world, Liverpool are never outplayed and never get what they deserve.

Hey, you'll enjoy this one too....it's all about Liverpool mistakes, bad calls, and luck that falls the opposition's way:

It wasnt as if they created their goals they just sort of happened. They got a somewhat dubious call when Smicer apparently fouled Pires was it? He then delivered to Edu. And Gerrard's mistake let Pires in and he still had to come up with something special.
My personal favourite is, "It wasn't as if they created their goals they just sort of happened"

Completely disagree. It was pretty clear to see on at least two of the replays (especially the one from behind) that Ferdinands feet in no way took Pongolle's out from under him. The only contentious part was Ferdinands hand in Pongolle's back. Ferdinand certainly didnt connect with his feet.

The first time Pongolle went near the ball when he came on he reacted like he'd been shot in the back when a perfectly legal tackle had been made so i can understand the ref not having a bar of the penalty.

Why wasnt Diouf sent off for a pretty crude tackle on O'shea the second time around? Had Keane done the same thing he woulda been sent off straight away.
