If you played that formation, our midfield would give yours a pounding.
Not really. You can see Gerrard and his five midfield pals standing around the centre circle wondering why there's nobody for them to mark.

It'd be like one of those pantomines where the crowd yells, "Look on the wings! Look on the wings!" After all, it's not as if the wings are a recognised part of the pitch for the Liverpool coaching staff and players.

Mind you, we'd probably still lose to a 92nd minute winner after Edwin van der Sar's goalkick goes in untouched. ;)
Sweet.

I reckon Hargreaves is getting someone elses squad number. He's been photographed with a shirt with no number, the only reason I can see is that it wouldn't be a nice way of telling a player that they are no longer required.

What did Smith wear?

Which lucky soul gets Kieron Richardsons number or are you retiring that out of respect/fear for the next person to wear such a piece of Man U history ;)

I'm surprised Rooney changed, so many people would have Rooney 8 shirts.

Would have been nice to see a gun South American in the #10.

Xfm Signs Manchester United Deal!

Xfm Manchester is proud to announce a brand new radio commentary partnership with the world's biggest football club, Manchester United. You'll hear every game, home and away, on your Xfm Manchester.

Whether the team are playing in Manchester, around the UK or abroad, we'll will be there broadcasting live commentary from the grounds straight to your radio on 97.7FM Xfm Manchester.

Bringing together Manchester's shared love of music and football, Xfm Manchester is the official radio station of Manchester United and will be covering every single game throughout the season, including the fast approaching Manchester Derby on August 19 2007.

Coverage comes from Xfm's crack squad of footie broadcasters, legendary United winger Micky Thomas and commentary veteran Gary Weaver (who you may have heard on the Xfm Breakfast Show during the 2006 World Cup).

And if that weren't enough, every Friday Xfm will be speaking exclusively to the gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson about the team, the forthcoming games and life in the United camp.

As games are played at various times during the week, the football will be broadcast on FM across Manchester with the rest of Xfm Manchester's output staying exactly the same continuing to be broadcast online across Manchester, the UK and the World.

Old Trafford, New Music Station
Every game home, away and on 97.7 Xfm Manchester

Good win last night, VDS in the shoot-out was just immense, stands tall, loved the Chelski fans walking out after SWP missed the 3rd.

Nani impressed me, couple of lovely corners and not afraid to run with the ball.

hey do you guys think that Tevez will definately be ready for the first rd of the premiership??
There are queries over his match fitness, but personally I can't see that being too much of a problem as he has been playing lately.

I'd like to see him start, but I doubt that he will. A place on the bench is far more probable IMO.

It's only a game and pretty meaningless but I thought he was laughably poor. Takes a decent corner but his allround game was rubbish.
his first touch of the ball was complete rubbish. stepped on it and lost possession. after that he didn't do too much wrong though, in the, what, ten minutes he was on.

not impressed that he had to change his boots either. what was that all about?

tried to take on players and failed.

he was better than Lampard (who I'm told, was actually playing) in his 10 minutes but he was still far from impressive.

Won the friendlies overnight 3-0 and 4-0. Nani score another spectacular goal apparently, the article hinted at him maybe getting a start on Sunday but I'm not so sure.

Ronaldo was rested as he got a knock in the Charity Shield while Scholes was a surprise inclusion in one of them. Tevez still not registered and Fergie said we won't see any of him on Sunday even if he is on time, should see him play some part in our second game, didn't see a mention of Anderson either.

May look something like this on Sunday

------------Rooney------------
Giggs-------------------Ronaldo
------------Scholes------------
------Carrick----Hargreaves----
Evra---Vidic--Ferdinand--Neville?
-------------VDS--------------
