Going to my first Storm match in quite a while tonight. Haven't been to one for a few years and have never watched a match at AAMI Park. Thought if I was going to attend one match though then this would be the one. What's the seating like at AAMI Park?

Depends where you sit but for the most part, it is amazing.

How was it? It's a terrific stadium isn't it?

Absolutely loved it. Close enough to the action no matter where you sit and there was a really good atmosphere at the ground last night. Definitely going to make a few more trips their next season!

How awesome was that loud Melboooooooourne chant right round the ground last night.:thumbsu:

It sent chills up and down my spine.

Not even some red wine settled my nerves Friday night.

BB. Ground easily could have held the additional numbers. Plenty of patches in the 'bad' seats + corporate's were busier than normal but still plenty of room.

24k is outstanding nonetheless and a shame the Storm simply can't get a Rebels line schedule.

For all my teasing of imbeciles on another site, have said all along RL is a bigger game here now and these marquee games prove it.

Anzac Day + the two Friday night games have all had brilliant crowds.

Copycats ;)

Fair enough, looked very packed on TV though.

Three 20K+ crowds shows the club is getting somewhere, if they could maintain those marque game crowds and lift the baseline (turn the 9-10k crowds in 14k crowds) they'll be going quite nicely.

Don't the Swans play virtually all their games in a particular timeslot? I think they do.

We have two games on Friday, why can't we do like the Rebs and make Friday nights the Storm's timeslot?

Clearly looking at what the Rebs drew and what the Storm have done on Fridays, people are into the idea of heading to AAMI on a Friday night. Id love to see a tester against a less popular team down here than Saints or Brissie.

As for the fans, well at the end of the day the games health is sometimes more important.

Swans predominantly play on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.
They don't want, nor get, Friday nights because they don't want to compete with NRL Friday night double headers.
Correct me if I am wrong on this, but channel 9 doesn't really want to show Storm games on Friday nights unless it's against Broncos, Dragons etc. They don't want to have to broadcast Storm vs Titans in their coveted Friday night timeslot. It's got no chance of happening while channel 9 and the TV rights are so influential.

This week we have Easts v Parramatta in the 9.30 slot if I'm not mistaken, frankly the IC need to tell 9 to go **** themselves and take back scheduling control.

If we only had 1 game I'd agree but we have two, so the live game can still be a blockbuster that we allow 9 to choose.

Ideally why can't we have Melbourne one week, Perth the next. Perth is perfect as it goes into the east live.

Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk is poised to make a shock return for Friday night's NRL blockbuster against Manly at Brookvale Oval.

Cronk didn't travel with his teammates but was expected to catch a later flight on Thursday night, increasing his chances of being a late inclusion for the hotly anticipated top-of-the-table match.

One of the Storm's 'big three' with Billy Slater and Cameron Smith, Cronk injured his ankle in the round 23 win over Gold Coast and would give the ladder leaders a major boost against their fierce rivals Manly.

We certainly missed Cronk last weekend in attack, I think we will need him to beat Manly.

You make so much sense, if only you were in charge:thumbsu:

Had you lost last week, i think he would have played. Isn't the differential something ridiculous? Melbourne are NO chance of not finishing first, so yeah you could understand CC not playing tonight assuming you are right.

Of course, a loss now rather than running into the Grand final having won 16 on the trot never hurt anyone.

On another note, I noticed last night the Storm website has a poll asking when your preferred home game timeslot is - I urge all to go vote and put forth their personal preference.

Everyone bar Tugga that is. 5.30 Saturday is arse

Definitely information that will be sent onto the Independent Commission when they take control of the game.

Monday night for me. Not family friendly I know, but nothing else to do on Mondays...

Exactly my thoughts too :thumbsu:

Tugga, I told you not to vote :D

Azza ha ha. I love Monday night footy too but people do seem to hate it. RL is perfect for Mondays, games over by 9, you are hone by a reasonable time etc etc

I like monday night football even though I never get to watch it, but would prefer saturday nights even though I'd never get to go to a live game as well being in north qld.

Saturday night would be perfect for Storm to be on TV as well because saturday is my chicken wings in sweet baby rays bbq sauce - the sauce is the boss - and beer night.
