Roger Federer is a dead set champion i feel for him

and also with Rafa Nadal greats sportsmanship and he played a ripper game and deserved it

All I can say after seeing this match, and this presentation, is that I can't wait to see these two guys go at it again in other Slam finals this year.

We are getting to see possibly the greatest player of them all, and one who is already stamping himself as one of the greatest of them all going head to head in matches like this. There is a genuine respect between the two of them on and off the court and it's a pleasure to watch :thumbsu:

Rafa true class and same with Federer. Good to see they are mates.
Exactly. They showed a lot of class - particularly Rafa.

But it was a messy presentation wasn't it? By the time they got around to Rafa, it was like all his excitement was gone. How does he get up there and celebrate a magnificent victory after his opponent has spent a minute blubbering in front of the microphone.

I'd prefer to see the loser disappear off the court, allow the victor their moment in the spotlight to do whatever they want, however they want. The winner shouldn't have a frown on their face and apologise to the crowd for winning!!!

Feel so sorry for Fed.

Pfft, blow it out your ass. Anyone who feels sorry for a guy thats going to win more GS than anyone in history is a dead set moron.

I'll go against the grain and say I'm a bit sick and tired of seeing Federer cry all the time. If everyone he has defeated in a final cried, we wouldn't have a water shortage. The guy has won 13 slams, 1 less than Sampras who has the most in history. It's not the end of the world, he lost a tennis match. He still has many chances to win slams. So yeah, enough with the tears. This moment is not all about Federer.

Well done Rafa!!!!! :thumbsu:

The match wasn't as epic as the Verdasco semi though. Rafa destroyed Federer physically and mentally. Great gesture when he put his arm around him. I love the guy!

Great and big victory for Nadal, I'm not too sure how Federer is going to react to this mentally, he played such a poor 5th set, it'll be tough. If he wants to regonised as the best player of all time (which is a stupid thing really to say) then he needs to play better in the big moments. Can completely understand the reaction from roger there at the presentation, nice to see Rafa was able to take it the right way.

I don't really like Nadal but huge respect to the guy :thumbsu: What stamina to be able to keep going, and when he looked like he was slightly flat he picked himself up again. That no.1 spot is his for a long time now barring injuries of course.

true...raf should be able to celebrate, and not have the job of consoling his opponent. Fed's emotions are just on overdrive around laver. Kinda like how bruce mcavaney was in the presence of carey... though instead of crying, bruce would just blow his load every time
