NBA 3pt record is the AFL equivalent of breaking the all-time handball record. Doubt there'd be the same reaction.

You Knick fans sure know how to bring the LULZ.

Welcome back to .500 Suns. Important rest in the 4th given we are the first to play the Jazz post Sloan tomorrow in Utah.

I feel dirty saying this, but for the first time ever Renegade might have a point.

The reason it's gotten so much play is because the previous record holder is the biggest self-promoter on TV, and he kept bringing it up. I certainly don't recall there being much of a hoopla when Karl Malone broke the long-standing FTs made record. ;)

we have had many years practice of bringing the lulz since our basketball franchise has been a joke since the mid 90's :)

Even the most average plays in the NBA would constitute NBL plays of the week

ie Jason Terry's sweet stroke, turnaround jumpers, rebounders jumping the height of the rim just to rebound

The celebrations were over the top, no doubt on that.

Comparing it to the equivalent of most handballs in the AFL is insulting. Everyone in the AFL can handball, not everyone can knock down a 3 in the A, let alone 2500 of them. The record also indirectly pays homage to Ray's work ethic and his ability to get the most out of himself. When you're over over 1000 makes ahead of the guy at number 3, that's saying something.

Don't disagree with any of that. It's just the way TNT pimped it that didn't sit particularly well. No doubting the record itself is impressive.

anyone remember rodman breaking the all time rebounding record? they stopped the game, gave him the ball and he cried.

are you waiting for ch 7 to rip off the montage for some afl stat this year?

TNT pimp a lot of things. That's why Craig Sager works for them.
