And there was a stretch at the start of the season where Kobe was a role player. Doesnt mean much in the overall scheme of things.

Westbrook does control the team though. He has like the 5th highest usage rate in the League, act guys like Kobe and Rose.

Durant is the better player though.

What makes Durant so special is his ability to score without needing to control the ball a lot. He moves so well off the ball and can get a shot up before a defender has time to set himself. Hence Westbrook can dominate the ball and Durant will still get his 30.

It's interesting to compare Melo and Durant in that regard. Probably the two purest scorers in the league; one is unstoppable in iso situations, while the other scores incredibly well within the flow of the game.

I wonder if anyone has Durant in MVP calculations. He's been unstoppable since mid December and while the Thunder are hot and cold, they're still on track for 55 wins and home court.

That high Curl play they run where he gets the ball about 18ft out at the top of the key is just so simple, but ridiculously effective, as he needs about 1 step with his quick release to get it off.

So good to watch,

Lol durant missed 2 free throws near the end of the game. Rusty would never do that. Durant is overated. good player but he is no rusty. however I'm tipping the thunder to come out of the west. If not this year next year.

Btw how underated are the bulls 2 games behind top spot without their 2nd best player for 30 games.

Hopefully we decide to trade for a good young SG because i think MLE will be gone in the new cba. which will be funny to watch the heat cry about it.

my list of targets

Fernandez
Thornton
Lee
JR Smith
Parker (last resort)

Westbrook missed 2 FTs at the end of a game about 3 days ago ... you really need to watch games or something

OKC are pretty much guaranteed home court by virtue of winning their division, but they're not getting out of the West, for two reasons.

1) Experience. The top three teams are all vastly experienced in terms of playoff games. Can anyone seriously see the Thunder beating Dallas, San Antonio or the Lakers in a seven game series?

2) They are still not playing well enough defensively.

I'm sure, despite all the pre-season wanking off, the aim for management would have been a playoff series win. If they get that it will be a successful season.
