What a quarter. Wowee [/bt]

Now just have to hope there's no 18-0 run by Chicago to start like yesterday :p

Bulls Manu'd? (net still capped :()

Def. take CP3 over Rondo.

Assists nearly as well but hits jump shots.

CP3's a better passer than Rondo, he just doesn't get to pass to Ray Ray coming off screens all game long.

That said, on a shit team Rondo would be scoring a lot more than he is now. Put him on the Hornets, for example, and I think we'd see something like 17/8.5

I agree, although I'm not sure there is much between them. Teams play Rondo to pass, but he still assists like mad. CP's scoring ability would surely open up the game a little more for him to make the pass to the open guy. Had to laugh today when we ran a couple of 1-3 pick and rolls, where both Wiz defenders would accompany Rondo to the rim leaving Pierce absolutely butt naked on the arc - I mean it's not like the guy is shooting 45% from deep or anything... But yeah that very rarely happens for Rondo, and I'd say it happens much more for CP.

good points. i reckon everyone here would agree.

No doubt, Rondo's a brilliant passer in his own right (and has that sexy underhand spin-bounce pass which I adore).

As for guys playing off Rondo, I actually think that makes it easier. Sure, Ray or Pierce might be covered better, but being in space all the time allows you to put your passes right on the spot. Whereas Paul is sometimes blitzed by a double team all the way out to half-court, in which case it's almost impossible to get an assist (although you'd rack up shitloads of "hockey assists" if your team-mates are competent).

A little bit (perfect shooting in the 2nd half, 6/6 I think), more everyone doing their bit.

Duncan showed up on the offensive end as well which was nice.

Also, Matt Bonner; +29 in 21 minutes.

(although you'd rack up shitloads of "hockey assists" if your team-mates are competent).
I'd love to see the stats on hockey assists so far this season, along with 'pass leading to foul', because with Shaq under the rim getting hacked, Rondo is probably having 3apg taken from him (of course he is probably regaining those 3 because Shaq is far superior to Perk offensively).

would you taken cp3 over rondo?

might be harsh, but is oden a bust?
Oden isn't a bust. He is just incredibly unlucky with injuries.

If Durant was injured for the next 3-4 years, would you call him a bust?

Who is Cartier Martin kidding? Celtics running the clock from 16.5seconds with a 114-81 lead. Martin goes for the steal with 2secs to go and gets fouled, sinks two free throws so his team only loses by 31 instead of 33.
Turns out he actually stole a pass from Von Wafer to the official at the end of the game!

This is quality.

The scream is hell funny, Wade kinda smirks and LeBrons stifles a laugh.

Pretty glad we had pick #3 instead of pick #1 in that draft, oops!

Oden is a restricted free agent at the end of this season. Terrible situation for Portland, if a team (NY!) overpay him Portand have to match it or lose a #1 pick for nothing. Or match it and have a cripple eating their cap.

Oden is definitely a bust. He was the number one pick and has barely played a game. If you're picked that high and don't perform for whatever reason then you're a bust. Roy's knees aren't much better either. Must be something in the water over there.

He is not a bust. Anyone who's watched him play knows he's a huge talent. He is, however, apparently the most injury-prone player alive. That is neither his fault, nor that of the team. Medical staff might be blamed, perhaps, but it's impossible to tell from here.

He's a RFA this year, and I have no doubt Portland will not even extend a qualifying offer as he's become a symbol of their ill fortune. Which means a team who has confidence in their medical staff will have a chance to take a low-risk/high-return gamble on him. Probably for something like 8M/2yrs you have the chance to try to salvage a top 5 talent at the C position. I.e. the Oden story is not over yet.

I don't think you can blame the medical staff too much either, given that he's required the surgery on both of his knees - you just have to say it's freakish bad luck or a body that simply isn't up to it (actually it's a bit of both). It's a real shame for it to happen to the guy, but he won't bounce straight out of the league, somebody will definitely give him a chance, just can't see it being Portland.

However it would not surprise me at all if news came out tomorrow that Oden is actually 38 years old.
