but, to everyone saying barry's over it, and should stand down, retire etc etc.
what if he had a bumper 2008? what if he made a huge impression on the team?

i know they're very big what-if's, and that he's on the tail-end of his peak, but what if it does happen?

just something thats been picking at my head for a while.

We're talking about now. Obviously I would love Leo to play blinders and, again, become a great leader who finds his feet and produces great games that really lifts the Sydney Swans BUT at this moment, its hard to contemplate about the 'what ifs' of Leo's future performances. He's 30 something now and its really hard to imagine anything better that will come out of Leo from here on in. You can't deny how horrible he was during the Collingwood Elimination Final.

i have said all along, the 22 must be picked on form, so if leo's form is good enough (and believe me, i'm the first to hope he does, and i wish him the best) then he should be picked
it's the same for any of them...crouch, bevan, mcvague (yearh, right, as if!), mathews, etc....if they're going well, pick them; if they're not, leave them out

i'm not clueless, but like emails, etc, it's hard to always accurately gauge the tone of these things
except in that red kid's post, which was unmistakably unpleasant
haha 'red kid'.

he's sucha tosser. sif bag out checking out guys. he probably does the same to chicks a billion times more than we do.

someone start a thread on the main board. no good threads, and bay 13 just plain sucks.

now you're losing me

what does "sif bag out checking out guys" mean?
and you mean main swans board or main board?
there's bgger-all on our board now, but there's a few good threads on the main one....softest players, debate between "tough" and "dirty" players, some idiot was trying to have a go at all the boring games the swans have been in.....then there's all the idiot "carlton for premiership" and "geelong invincible" threads, sometimes it's good just to fire a few shots back at these clowns
still not even 2008 yet and some cat fans can't help themselves get the kleenex out for a good tug

yeeep.

gc_26 is an absolute nutter. i'm happy for geelong and all that, because my family goes for them, but they're reeeally getting on my nerves.

sif bag out checking out guys = its contradictory of him to say that what we do all day is check out guys, when it's not true and he probably does it a LOT more than us.

i meant our board, but i can see what you mean. just have to wait for the season to start.
i posted on the softest players once. mcvague; there is NO comparison.

well, i think you know my thoughts there....i'd like very much to know what roos and the coaching staff have seen in mcvague to warrant him getting such an extended show of faith, when you look at how several other players in the past coupla seasons (eg, buchanan, schneider, dempster, grundy, schmidt, phillips, et al) seem to get the axe from the side very quickly, yet consistently play better, do more, offer more than mcvague has ever done
it's almost like the club is determined to justify his being taken at No 5 in the draft....boy did we fck that up...in fact, i've just really made meself angry thinking about it all again

number 5..pfft. we got malch at 64 i think, last pick before we passed on everything else. what a draft.
im holding a lot of hope next season for roosy to either see the light or show us the light, because right now, i can't make heads or tails of the mcveigh issue.

just make sure you've got something cutting to say when the red boy turns up again
mcvague is almost a lost cause

Do you think if we pray REAL hard to the Gods of Footy that he might start to play like his brother? (Mind you, I'm not a big fan of the brother either)

And ssfc0203, you are quite correct, schematics is very definitely a proper word and you used it correctly in the context of your post.

mark mcveigh is a niggly little prck, i hate the way he plays football and until this year, when he stood out in a really ordinary and disappointing essendon side, he was almost as big a bust as his brother....i'd have been happy trading mcvague to the bombers so he and his brother could wrestle on away trips, and we get courtney johns or, say, nathan lovett-murray, or even kep bradley....but it never happened
actually, i'd have taken their mascot for mcvague

i'll just ignore him.
don't even know why i replied, people like that don't even deserve an answer.

mark mcveigh looks very..sneaky? i dunno, but i just don't like him. would've been a damn sight better than mcvague, though..

Well done to all those who got in, but Ablett's inclusion was a bit of a shock.

Surprised me when I was redading through the thread and someone mentioned that C Bolton was 27. Time really does fly, as whenever I think of him, Lockyer etc, I think of them as 22 yo.
