Conley earns about 10mil more than Kyrie, we would have to do the unthinkable and include shump
Well that's an obvious flaw

The other is, if bron is gone u need something in the cupboard

If you want to still compete for a title I think Conley is about the best available

But rebuilding with a 30 plus Conley and owing him the best part of 90 million is all kinds of blurgh.

I'd also be tempted to tell Irving to suck it up and hold him to his contract for 12 months

Thats the one i'd be targeting if i were Cleveland
They're so far over the cap. To bring Conley in they would need to offload almost 36 million bucks. That's Irving's salary plus another 17 million.

Good luck getting the grizz to take one of korver or jr smith.

Only one that remotely works is adding Thompson, which the grizz also may not want, and ruins the cavs' team make-up anyway.

Irving wouldn't want to go to Memphis in any case I would have thought.

I am in favour of keeping the future in mind as in my opinion anything we do ends with a finals loss

2016 finals was 6 blowouts + Kyrie's 3
One shot. People conviently forget that he was putting up bricks almost the entire fourth. They wouldn't have even been in the position for him to hit that shot if it wasn't for LeBron's chasedown block plus a number of other things he did in that quarter.

It isn't 2011 anymore. LeBron is more than capable of being good in the fourth quarter.

Absolutely. Taking the last shot is not the reason he is in the GOAT conversation though. That is fact.

Edit: I was not talking up Kyries 3 either. Just merely pointing out that was the only game that even required a clutch performance. The rest were blowouts and when the Cavs won the Warriors starters were probably sitting on the bench.

Game 5 and 6 required constant Cavs buckets to keep the Warriors at bay. Particularly game 6 when the Warriors starting to get going late in the third.

The thing they lose most if they trade Kyrie is his ability to give LeBron a rest from creating offence. Irving isn't much of a playmaker but he can obviously score.

If they trade him and get something average in return I think that's really going to impact LeBron's game negatively. He's not the 24 years old anymore.

No Clutch only means hitting iso jump shots according to everyone. No matter if Lebron made every right play, made some monster defensive efforts. I think Cleveland were absolute grit on the defensive end. Those defensive moments where Love managed to contain Curry Iso 1-1, Lebrons block were more telling then Kyrie's 3

Yep. The Cavs defence won them this series.

It lost them the finals this year. Obviously stopping the current Warriors is near impossible though).

I think the Cavs would be just as good with someone like Conley who can provide more defensively.

Some difference between sagging off Barnes to close harder and trap Thompson and Curry and Sagging off Durant.

I still think Kyrie gives them someone who can consistently score 20ppg and aggredive. Conley is more rounded by Kyrie so dynamic on offense
