lol Doc back to only coaching.
Smart decision, even if the damage has already been done.

I'm sure he would have got some assistance, but how can one seriously be expected to coach and manage the team at the same time without one of those roles being performed at a worse level?

I know Bill Belicheck does it in the NFL but it's a different game.

Not sure if it got posted here, but this is pretty great.

Old man yells at clouds

Today is more athletic, more emphasis on 3p%, you can't compare, anyone who does has rocks in their head. I understand the mind and drive of an Athlete will always be there, tell them basketball was better nowdays then yesteryears they'll fire back, almost rightfully so.

Major difference is Zone Defense, Majority of plays in the NBA 15-20 years ago was PG gets the ball, brings it down, after some screens you isolate the match up, they go to town 1v1, You load up one side so the player has the best chance and space to make plays

Nowdays you can't

The point was more this was Wilt like 30 years ago talking about ball in the 80s compared to what it was in the 60s the same way those dudes in the 80s talk about ball today compared to the 80s/90s. Found it funny.

Very true, but it's also worth remembering that the 3 point line wasn't introduced until the 1979-80 season so it's only natural for that to improve over time. They worked the ball inside more because it was a better percentage play, so players didn't practice the 3 pointer like they do today. If they had the 3 point line when Jerry West was playing, God only knows how many points he would have scored :)

Majority of NBA play today is PG/primary ball handler gets the ball, waits 15-20 seconds, shoots a 3, scores.

The successful ones anyway

Kyrie is being very short cited...lebron left to learn how to win a chip, kyrie is learning without having to leave cleveland. Kyrie has 2 years at an absolute MAX to play second fiddle to lebron. At that point lebron will certainly hand the reigns over to kyrie.

Lebron is a smart dude, he knows the minutes he has played, if he wants longevity in the game or even to chase down kareem, he needs to ease up at some point. He will play backup to kyrie after kyrie has finishes his"Apprenticeship" and entering his physical prime at 27 ,28.

At cleveland, Kyrie will have built upenormous chemistry with lebron, his reputation as a one club player will be in tact and as long as kyrie and lebron are together they will have a good chance with free agents.

Instead he will end up at a team that will gut its roster for him and it will be deja vu for him.

Wrong move kyrie
