New Video of Blease:

He looks a scintillating player to me. I love the way he takes them on and seems excellent below his knees.

I wouldn't be unhappy. His upside could be huge!

Just on Suban from the little of what i've seen of him he looks like a good prospect as an in and under midfielder with excellent disposal. And if he doesn't cut it for whatever reason he looks like a good prospect as a small defender a position we lack so it wouldn't be a massive loss. I'd love to have him in the second round but not with our first round pick.

Dan Hanneberry seems the popular candidate for the second round pick on here, can anyone tell me about him?? I havn't seen any footage of him. Anyone have his youtube??

I agree Kirby.

I've seen "as outside as it gets" next to his name, yet in the youtubes he's constantly knifing through middle. He's obviously not a Burns-type, but he hardly seems a Wells-type either.

That is certainly a more encouraging tape of Blease. You can see from that what the upside and excitement is about with this kid. There are obviously still concerns about his ability to go missing but there is more to work with there than I first thought.

Let me preface this by saying I am a gambling man... "no".

The simplest way to explain my position is that I don't think he's going to be that much better than the next best available player to justify the risk. Maybe at best, he's going to be 10-15% better than that player, but he's probably got 30% less chance of making it for various reasons. This is an oversimplification, but you get the idea.

The odds don't stack up for mine. What's more, I don't think the Pies are in a position where we can afford to "miss" with our first couple of picks this year. The unfortunate reality is that Swift is a better proposition for the powerhouse sides of the competition in Geelong and Hawthorn, and even then I wouldn't be surprised to see Swift slide into the 20's.

Inclined to agree. Suban projects as a small defender at AFL level for mine, and I don't really see where his improvement is going to come from. 45/46 for sure, but before that I'd be uneasy.

Interesting considering if he didn't do his knee would probably going in the top2 picks, according to all and sundry he was better than every mid that is rated higher if his knees are fine i say draft him.

Selwood esk selection he has the build to impact day 1 and the buckley like determination, after a few trial games and NAB cup games he would have his touch back doesn't take that long to get back where you were.

Blease looked great there. Very Juddy like in his lateral movement and very clean pick ups on the run. He can run himself in to trouble sometime but his pace is quite amazing he just ran through and past a couple of players at will. Hopefully he slides to 18.

Collingwood need to take a quality midfielder with 11. Despite his GF performance i can see Sidebottom sliding to 11 and he could become yet another cult figure at Collingwood.

I really like the look of Blease in that video. Explosive pace, fantastic below his knees (as Kirby said), and seems to be good on both sides of the body. I'd be happy with using pick 11 on him, as long as we get a legitimate extractor with 29.

Hine Curve ball at Pick 11

With the De-Listing of Thoolen, Making me think that we will go KPP with pick 11,

I would like Trengove as you all know but Hine could pull a Curve Ball and Select:
.
.
.
Lewis Johnstone

People have him going to the Crows at Pick 10 but News is going around is that they won't pick him and that could have him available at our Pick 11.

He is a Pies Man.

Reviews:
Bottom aged tall forward who starred in a couple of games for SA. Playing CHF or FF he took numerous contested marks in a few of the games and kicked for goal well. Kicks mainly left foot but does have a right side. His pace is ok and he works well on his leads and does lead to the right spots on the ground, works the angles well on his leads and is not just a straight up leading player.
Needs to work on stopping his opponent running off up the ground and getting involved and he also gave away some silly free kicks at times during the champ series.

Mobile key position type who has the skills to run through the midfield. Reminds me a little of Chad Cornes in the sense that he has the skills of a key position player with the athletic attributes of someone who could run through the midfield. Will need to work on the defensive side of his game and his discipline will be put under the microscope by scouts around the league but has a heap of talent and is the right AFL size.

Awesome contested marking in the champs playing either at FF or CHF, kicked a few goals, has the skills and engine to play through the midfield, much like an Adam Goodes or a Chad Cornes,
PROS: - VERY Good contested marking
- Strong hands
- Leads well
- Accurate set for goal
- 'X factor'
CONS: - Defensive pressure
- Discipline

Re: Hine Curve ball at Pick 11

I don't think we'd go for another tall forward, personally.

Thoolen's delisting does really change the landscape, IMHO. 5 ND/PSD selections and 4 rookie selections make this a monumentally important draft cohort for us, we've got to get this one right or it could set us back a long way... equally it could be the making of us if we nail it.

I doubt it would happen but Hine has know to do something Interesting Recruitment

Re: Hine Curve ball at Pick 11

All Thoolen's delistment meant was that we wanted 5 selections.

It was either he goes or Wellingham or MacAffer is let go.

He obviously thinks he can get a better prospect than Thoolen late in this draft, and I don't blame him for it.

We took Thoolen purely because we HAD to take aa final selection, and he probably had the most upside.

Re: Hine Curve ball at Pick 11

I did always think he'd make it as a ruckman or not at all, I guess it was the latter. :(

I think the delisting of Thoolen might mean we are considering someone in the pre season draft. I am not entirely unsure we won't try and nab him in the rookie draft again tbh. Like TRS I reckon he was clearly ruck or bust and I reckon they might take the chance on him growing and bulking up a bit by putting him on the rookie list.

i agree about the preseason draft maybe a recent delisting may be of interest to Hine. if Thoolen was to be rookied by us ud imagine hed be kept in our training squad in the lead up to the preseason/rookie draft, when those lists are announced it would be interesting to c how who is on our traning list.

That's U-16 level I take it? But gee, I can kinda understand the hype - the skills, dash and poise, and from that he could do it inside and outside. Not at all bad. Really wonder what Hine'd do if he's there at 11. Could be just the final piece of the puzzle, if he comes off.

The Lions might nab him, if Voss has an influence. Who knows. But boy, impressed I tell ya.

We would be nuts not to take him, he is a J.Selwood all over again and like that year I reckon we will miss out on him by a pick or 2.

That would be good.
Takes the gamble out of our hands and lets maybe Hartlett slide to us.

That's a good point. That was an excellent high reel though. Where he goes in the draft is going to be the most interesting part for me. If his knees are fine then someone may take the punt early which means a Hartlett or Sidebottom may slide to pick 11.

If he hasn't been picked up, it's going to be a big call for Hine to pass on him.

I have heard we been talking to swift since the start of the year
