As I said in an earlier post, it's not your tall forwards that'll win the game, it's the midfield battle. If they get supply they'll kick goals, if we stop your midfield we win.

will be interesting to see what happens if Martin doesn't pass a fitness test. They would nearly have to throw Gawn in. I really don't think Newton will play as our #1 ruckman.

On a side note, it's great to see the Dees v Kanga's sledging back in full force this week! We hate them, they are jealous of us, it's brilliant! Been a bit quiet between the two clubs this season up until this week! Maybe because the North supporters haven't had a lot to cheer about and then our ruckman and a couple of gun kids are out of the team, and they see a chance of blood! God Bless 'em....

A lot of people mentioned Collingwood wounldn't of had the same issue with the tribunal. I think that might because their supporters show passion and strength. They turn up to games and make noise. They are stronger and richer then us and we have alot of work to reach a simmilar status. Not bothering to go to games because you feel cheated isn't the way to go about it

Now is the perfect time to support your team and be proud of every tackle they make and every hitout they win. Tomorrow is the time to show the AFL that we are Melbourne and we do matter. In tought times we won't roll over and die, we will sing and cheer and show our support, not to north, not to the AFL but to the Melbourne Demons.

That does makes my original point even stronger, Boomer can't carry your whole midfielder & you're going in with 1 less midfielder than last week & plenty of out of form players. I posted earlier in the week about Boomer's recent dominance over us in recent years, he has 14 brownlow votes from the last 7 games against us, that's 4 best on & one 2nd best, domination if I've ever seen it.

North's talls are Goldstein (201), Petrie (197) & Hansen (197) & your standard 6"4 defenders. Adelaide had Jacobs (203), Tippett (203), McKernan (198) & Walker (194) + 2 defenders & we smacked them.

- Jacobs is not in Goldsteins league, and we have the added luxury of not having to worry about Jamar this week.

- Tippet is the only player mentioned that is up at Petrie and Hansen's marking standard. Then there's Edwards.

- McKernan is still a baby and is badly utilised by Craig.

- Walker is the AFL version of Sybil regardless of the opposition.

- Geelong had to two out Petrie last week to quell him, and I don't rate the Dees defence as being stronger than Geelongs.

I'm not worried about height per say, more about Petrie & Boomer, keep those 2 quiet & I think we're 3/4 the way to winning.

Easier said than done.

We shut down Jurrah and Moloney and we are 4/4 the way to winning.

You other 2 or 3, you don't. If you have a legitimate reason to not be there, fair enough, but if you would go if it was at the G, that's piss poor. Sorry, but that's the truth. We immediately lose plenty of support from MCC members not being there, the team has a tough enough time as it is winning there, I'm sure it's a bit easier is they've got a few extra vocal supporters.

I'm going to see maybe 3 or 4 live games this year, I support the team every chance I get, not just when it's suits me

This is why I don't understand why we didn't pick any midfielders. We've lost 2 midfielders (Grimes started in the midfield) and a ruckman, we have replaced them with a ruckman, a make shift ruckman and a small forward.

Jetta is as much a midfielder as Newton is a ruckman. He proved it against the Hawks.

The game is about midfield dominance. We haven't had depth in the midfield all year until last week when we put Maric and Bartram in the midfield now that depth will be lost again.

If i lived in Melbourne i would be at every game i could, home or away. Sadly, I don't have that luxury.

But this week is different, I’m going to be there, can't wait, i hate both docklands and North but love the dees way to much to pass the opportunity.

Dragging along a couple of other dees fans who don't attend many matches plus a North supporter who is going to be on the receiving end of some abuse whether we win lose or draw.

Well I'll be playing footy myself as my match starts the same time - which is unfortunate as it will be the first melb vic game I miss thus far

Conditions i'll be playing in will be worse as our ground is absolutely drenched + cold + rain + mud.. and we have our 3's and 2's playing before us which most likey rip the ground up even more. Though I'm gona play my heart out thinking of that pathetic decision that happened this week.. Trengove, this one's for you mate!

Good to see some passion here. As much as I dislike the Darklands, that's a piss poor effort not to go see my team play. Good call about the MCC Members as well... I myself am one, and am constantly astounded at how the attendance in the Reserve varies from week to week. There were f**k all sitting there last week vs. Adelaide, as compared to a packed first level against Brisbane. Many flaky supporters. Vocal when it suits, but flaky when we're not playing as well.
