Another f*ck up by the match selection committee. Fergy must have run over Daniher's dog or something, he is cleary our best defender yet gets dropped for no reason.

this aint good :|

we have no real quick on the lead tall defenders except say Wheatley

i see this as a big ******** up. if fergy wasn't to play on Grant then surely Skipper or Minson.

y bring in carroll and drop bizzell when bizzell would be more suited to the dogs forwards

What the hell are the selectors smoking?

A pathetic decision to drop Ferguson and keep Nicholson. How many years will it take Daniher to realise that Nicholson is not good enough to play AFL?
Ferguson is brave, quick, smart and he can play up forward.

How incompetent can this club get?

read was out alst week but came in late for green. had around 7 touches and was (as usual) agressive and gave away stupid free kicks that almost cost us the game... bizzel hasnt been performing and id say ferguson is out for match up reasons that are beyond me... thats the second time its happened this year... myb dainher really wants to match the bulldogs and run... goin for a smaller quicker team...

i like yze starting o nthe bench... finally danihers love child gets told he better improve as he has done absolutely nil in the past couple of months...

and im loving armstrong in team. his career with us on the line and hes one of my fav palyers... needs a big game after an average game last week but i rekon he ahs potential...
i think we can do well with this team... final line of defence is carrol nicho bell... theres some inexperience for ya...

Then why are Fergy and the Biz out?
AND NICHOLSON AND CARROLL IN????????????
I know Bizzell's form has been pretty crap but seriously he would be way more suited to the Bulldogs.
And I like Read in the team because he gives us everything he's got, he has toughness (Which we don't have heaps of) and although he gives away free kicks he also makes the opposition gives away free kicks.

With this latest screw-ups by our selectiors, i hereby withdraw all faith I have in our clubs selection group. The Dogs must be licking their chops at the sight of our team.

My god...what the hell is wrong with the selection committee? Fair enough to drop read, and maybe someone else to bring junior or green back in, but why drop fergy and bizzel?
Absolute BS!!!!

I fail to see why James McDonald gets a gold pass back into the senior side.

Anyway, the changes aren't that bad. If they'd dropped bloody Nicholson instead of Fergie I'd be content.

the dogs have 1 big, seasoned and strong bodied tall forward and thats grant. our 'big' defenders are nicholson and carroll. seems as if ND doesn't trust either of them to keep grant quiet so he has played the 2 of them incase the one who gets first crack (my guess carroll) ********s up. the other will take Skipper/Minson

Wheatley - Murphy should be a good matchup but i'd have liked Bizzell in the team to play on say Robbins

Ferguson is out simply for match ups. Nothing else. Nicholson is suited for Grant who is slow, and from there, they aren't tall at all. Bell, Wheatley, Carroll (who was very good last week in the magoos) are more suited to those match ups. Plus, Bizzell has been crap for months. He was ordinary last week too.

Read is swapped for Junior, at least Junior isn't as undisciplined and can tag better, while Green comes in for Bizzell.

Fergie is stiff, but c'mon, there isn't any match ups for him. He'll be back next week.

McDonald is a a must for melbourne and is the barometre of our side. You can’t underestimate his importance. When Junior plays well, Melbourne plays well so he has to be in. Perhaps the break will do him good.

I’ve heard a couple of reports from various sources suggesting that Brown may not get up this week.

Sorry but i beg to differ on your comment about matchups...if you look at the dogs' team, they have both Skipper and Street on the bench and we have no talls on the bench. Ferguson would be the perfect match up for Skipper who will probably play at CHF and is way more versatile than Carroll and Nicholson. Nicho on Grant is fine but Carroll didn't need to come because he had a good game in the twos...Fergy has been great for 90% of the year in the ones.

Can't wait for the Nicho/Carroll show in the backline.

I think in future years I will prefer to think that the 2005 season ended at Kardinia Park. Just like I'm still trying to pretend that 2004 ended the moment we hit the top of the ladder.

Rivers doesn't look to be doing that well, he doesn't look that enthusiastic IMO

Bizzell has gotten a bit of the ball but has kicked a few mongrel kicks. Jamar has taken some nice strong marks which is good tos ee and Fergy has 2.2

What should we do with fergy in the next few years. He's been kicking a few goals this year. If we managed to pick up a mature FB in the off season, should he get a run up forward? With that in mind, I still like him down back.

If he could bulk up I would have him straight at FB.

He is Fletcher like, but he hasn't had a full pre season on the weights yet, i think he still had shoulder trouble last year, which wouldn't have let him have a full pre season on the weights. Looking at Rivers on the weekend he looks bigger than he was, so i'm optimistic he can bulk up a bit next year.

Hmmmmm. To be honest those were probably the best possible changes. Nicholson and Carroll were good last week but I'm worried about Lloyd now. We can't play Nicho on him, so the possible opponents look like they would be Fergy (Who I'd go with on him) or Carroll. If Lucas goes forward he could cause some trouble.

However, if we keep that forward setup for the whole game I'll be very happy. Really, on paper that is very good and if Neita and Ooze hit some form we should win. Bruce would just a be bonus but I'm all for playing him. We need our best side possible for this game.
