Agree. Clubs need to be transparent with what they want, otherwise its to the detriment of both player and club to throw thoughtless deals together willy nilly...

Essendon are targeting Josh Caddy. Which is annoying because he's a player that I'd want to replace Scully and they're trying to get him for unders (two end of first round picks).

Caddy's a special type of mid though. Very much like Sylvia only an ever better kick and he has a massive tank. Although it is a luxury, it wouldn't be a bad swap if we traded the two compo picks for him and got something else back too as he'd essentially be replacing Scully.

Highly doubt Tippett will go anywhere bar Queensland. We can try though.

Sam Reid comes out of contract next season. If we could lure him back to Victoria...

Have you actually seen Caddy play dez? He is a potential star and if it wasnt for injury early in the year he would be talked up on bigfooty in the same way heppel and shuey are talked up. He has a massive tank, good skills and strong in the contest so no idea why we wouldnt try trade for him if we dont give up too much just because we are getting viney in 2011. Viney has nothing to do with it though despite being very good. They're completely different types of players.

That's why I want Jaeger/Caddy, they're like Scully. A line-breaking midfielder who can win a clearance, run the ball and hit up targets in the same play. That's the kind of player you need to win premierships, they're like the Judds and Abletts to your Kerr, Cousins, Embley, Bartel, Chapman, Enright, Corey and Selwood.

I'd rather add one more star (A+) player to our team than two excellent (A-) young players. But that's just me.
