You were replying directly to me. I dont speak for other Collingwood posters.
I'm aware. Was lumping responses together, and since you all seem adamant on calling out anything anyone else says you disagree with, it'd stand to reason the Collingwood fans aren't disagreeing with one another

Twice you've been condescending and insulting. Twice its failed. Maybe still to discussing the points.

360 tonight is brutal. Suck it Robbo.

Scott and Bucks destroyed him.

An accurate and clinical dissection of journalistic failures in this area. Rare that such a platform is provided to take down a journalist. Really enjoyed it.

Neither coach missed.

Tl;dr

Accused of him of been a not so ethical journo

Basically said story was wrong.

Made a strong point that neither of them thought Collingwood should have been named

Both thought it extremely unfair article as the clubs have Nfi about the results.

Etc.

He was ripped apart

Updates? Watching the storm
Buckley telling Robbo he has low reporting standards. Chris saying he would be even more annoyed than Buckley if the article was on Geelong players. Accusing Robbo of being uncertain about numbers and sensationalising to sell newspapers, tainting a whole club/clubs with a bad reputation with very little information to support it.

That the majority of players do the right thing over the off season, that clubs are told to stay away from players during the off season and cannot regulate their behaviour, that blaming a club for a couple of voluntary drug tests over the summer is ridiculous, and that the players have no reason to continue volunterring for these tests if the condition of confidentiality is broken...

What I don't get is, wasn't it agreed to, these terms, prior to the tests. So the clubs knew they'd be off season, and knew they wouldn't be told specifics, but now are complaining that they don't know specifics. Why agree to the terms if you didn't like them?

Clubs had and have nothing to do with it.

Nil, nada. Nothing. It's an agreement between the afl and aflpa. The results were supposed to be confidential and the clubs were not meant to know.

So the clubs get caned, in this case Collingwood. And they have no recourse to anything. They don't like it.

What makes you think the clubs agreed to this.

I don't know the letter of the agreement but my understanding of the coaches perspective is:

The players agreed to the terms (one of which was confidentiality)

The players are entitled to feel betrayed because confidentiality was broken

The clubs have very little to do with regulating their off season behaviour and are annoyed that they are being portrayed as out of control and supporting drug cultures when they are warned to stay away from their players during the off season ie-cant even give them training programs. (Robbo tried suggesting that the pre-offseason warnings about drug tests from the clubs to the players were the clubs instigating off season illicit drug controls and didn't get very far)

So the AFLPA negotiated the terms outside of the players contracts? The clubs had no consultation in it? (Not being a smart arse. Just seems like a genuinely stupid way to do things, and if so, the AFLPA should shoulder a lot of the blame)

Robbo made it pretty obvious that only someone from within Collingwood had the info.

Buckley said the CEOs of each club were given the hair test results.

Gary Pert has been outspoken about the problem of illicit drugs, I haven't heard a thing from him since this broke.

Robbo might not have the numbers right but who should Buckley really be pissed at?

Careful. Pies supporters got very personal when this was suggested before.

People need to boycot the HS.
It's gutter trash reporting.
I haven't had Foxtel and haven't read the paper in over 12 months and my view on AFL is so much more positive.
It's all negative reporting.
When I've taken the media out of the game I've started to pay more attention....you guessed correct....to the actual game!!!
Give it a try

Yes and yes.

The afl wanted to do the testing for info purposes only. The aflpa agreed. The clubs were not to know who, what, when, where, how etc.

You think the clubs agreed to this? You don't think the clubs knew if the results got out it was the clubs that were going to cop it.

Scott and Buckley were livid. Not only because it got out, but because they had Nfi about it. And only now know about the results because of the leak. They still don't know who, just a number
