Broadly, they’re enforceable to the extent that they’re reasonable, and what’s reasonable will depend on the circumstances.

For someone in Inness’ position, it may well be reasonable to restrain him from taking a similar position in one of our 17 direct competitors for the next 12 months. That wouldn’t preclude him taking a job in another elite sport.

It sounds like we’re not holding him to his contract anyway, so it’s all a moo point.
Can't really play hardball when we're trying to find his replacement, I imagine

If that's the case, why pay him out at all?

As Miguel Sanchez has said, "he would have a non-compete" clause in his contract, so he can't work for another AFL club if he leaves.

So we can either say "stay and commit to your contract or walk away".

Oh we won't its just my grumpy kent emotive rant.

Brisbane fan here, but why doesn't West Coast pay overs to bring the best people to the club? You can go over the soft cap if you're willing to pay the fine, and the eagles are the richest club in the league, which means you could easily afford the fine. I get you're at a disadvantage, but i feel like your club doesn't make the most of its resources, because in the end, money will always usually win. If i supported your club, i would be more annoyed at your club not being able to flex itself in this way more than your staff members leaving for other clubs.
Mitchell left for family or other reasons.
Matthew Knights was a dead loss
Hansen was probably hoping Voss would fall on his sword and was prepared to wait for that.
Innes took the job and was prepared to leave his family in Melbourne, he was never going to be a stayer.

ROB is there too

Excellent news....who better than him to have input on them getting even more flankers with midfield potential.

But please don' let him pick the KPP , he is very good at that.

According to Nine news tonight Port have acquired Luke Webster - not sure if that's as a line coach or for a Director of Coaching role that they're looking to fill.

Was mentioned in the media that his family stayed in Vic when he took the job here. They thought it would work with him returning to Vic every 2nd week or so with the team, almost like a FIFO situation, but it hasn't really worked as well as they'd hoped.

Edit: I just saw the post from Ryan Daniels has been posted, explains things I guess.
Matthew Knights tried the FIFO way and it didn't work for him either.

Thought Schofield was pissing off back to Port?

I suspect the position at Subiaco will be a little different the second time around without the brown paper bags at his disposal.
They lost their cash cow of AFL seats at Subiaco Oval.

You can hear him Speak about the eagles and subi from the 57 min mark

Feel for Schoey there. Sounds like a ripping bloke and wanted to stay at the club. Blindsided by the sacking.

Don't think the AFL has seen the last of him, but I hope he goes back to Subi in the meantime and WE RISE AGAIN!!! :moustache:
