Georgina Robinson is the worst. She can't speak about any sport without relating it back to rugby union. She managed to say that the Australian cricket team needs to create a siege mentality like the great Michael Cheika and the Wallabies have and then could only speak about the quota system in South Africa in terms of how it effects rugby.

In fairness, Caro was the parent of this approach - she has an amazing ability to take something completely unrelated and somehow end her part of the discussion talking about the AFL.

I once had an account on LU but got bant for suggesting that if Folau was a success at GWS then RL had better look out as the AFL might try and recruit some more players. They seem to live in perpetual fear of Aussie rules, those lads. Even when it isn't justified.

There was whinging on Twitter about yesterday's cast (Whateley, Hinds, Haigh and Caro) being too Melbourne-centric. Well aside from the obvious budgetary limitations (as if the ABC are going to fly people across the country every week for a Sunday morning sports round-up), I thought it worked very well. Richard Hinds' all-sport knowledge was a great antidote to last week, where Georgina Robinson made every comparison to her chosen field (rugby union).

Thanks for that Richard.

In fairness, what would you rather have heard them talk about? Practice matches in the AFL?

While I'm not a fan (lived 10 minutes from Canberra Stadium for 6 years, didn't go to a single game), SuperRugby is the first of the winter codes to come into season, and Waratahs/Reds is the biggest Australian rivalry. They would've talked about it as one of the major discussion points even if it had been in Melbourne.

They were always going to cover Cambidge, the cricket is old news by now... the only thing it missed that otherwise would've been on the show was Gerard talking about Winx and Extreme Choice from yesterdays racing.
Waratahs & reds?

This is another hyped up Sydney thing isn't it thing every one in the country worships rugby?

That Caro & Roy segment was one of the most cringe-worthy things I've ever watched.

I muted it and went back to my brekky.

Glad they're going with a summer version, though. It's not like we're going to be short of sport over the next few months...

If only they had Waleed, Richard Hinds and Francis Leach on every week. Gideon Haigh is good when talking about cricket too.

The Caro and Roy segment was cringeworthy.

Gerard for the most part is really good but when he goes on a rant he doesn't hold back and can come across really bitter lol.

Waleed and Hinds every week?

Holy heck, that's my worst nightmare. Hinds thinks he's funny and all I can hear are crickets when he attempts a joke.

As for Waleed, he seemingly has an opinion on everything and I'm not exactly sure what his qualification is to be on the show given he's not a coach, sports star or a sports writer/broadcaster like everyone else.

And yet knows as much on a multitude of different sports than a lot of the them. Go figure.
