Has it only been me or have other people been heartbroken this year? With the tigers AGAIN finishing 9th (because of hawthorn). Richmond have definately improved but obviously not enough. Port fans wouldn't feel too bad as the last half of the year was an improvement. St.Kilda fans would be shocked but that shock (you would think) must've occured in the in the first 6 games!!
So, is anyone else sad, heartbroken or shocked?
By the way, congratulations Wayne Campbell on 200 terrific games.

My honest opinion - I dont pity Richmond at all because I thought they were pathetic today. They didnt go in, looked like they werent trying - definitely did not look a team that not only had to win, but win by 5 goals!

Carlton werent all that fantastic, the first half was pretty ordinary footy, but Richmond were woefull! I wanted to see a good game today, and I thought Richmond had enough pride to take it to the struggling blues, but obviously, they dont.

I was watching it with a Hawthorn supporter who was rapt, but said "Thank god Richmond played like they did - Carlton werent all that good"

I agreed.

Man I'm hurting!

I wasn't really a fan of AFL way back in '89, so I've never done this before

I just hope my boys are too.....

What are we going to do for the next 7 or so months?

As I told Sainter, don't feel too down. Richmond is the only team who could genuinely say that their season was destroyed by injuries, and yet your boys still managed to almost sneak into the finals. The team battled through the year, had some magnificent victories with pride and passion, and unearthed some real positives such as the form of Leon Cameron (I will never forgive the doggies for that one!!!), Kellaway brothers etc. You gave a lot of youngsters invaluable experience, and Matty Richardson is back next year. Any team whose one superstar is out of the team for almost the whole year is going to struggle.
Imagine how you will go him in the team!!

Im hurting....its all so new this no finals business sucks!!! Westy Boy i think you can add WC to your genuinly say there season was ruined by injuries list. We copped it bad this year. Oh well theres always next year.

Yes, I am heartbroken this year, the Swans couldn't make it.

We lost 7 games by less than 2 goals and won only 1 close one by comparison.

We had 13 games at the SCG, including 10 in the first 15 rounds - but we blew it, mainly through stupid lapses in concentration at crucial times in crucial games.

Above all others, it is the Swans who are truly deserving of the tag "CHOKERS" this year.

We couldabeen, but we weren't, so we are just wannabe's really.

Isn't that just like the old South Melbourne / Sydney of the VFL ? - always thereabouts, always playing quite good footy, but always finishing 6-10 and missing out on the finals year after year.

*sigh* ....

I feel sorry for you Richmond fan.
My brother in law barracks for Richmond & at the start of the season I told him the Tiges would end up near the bottom.
Boy did I have to eat my words, imagine if you didn't have all those injuries.
Oh well you can look forward to next season.

I went to the game expecting a good old suburban footy hitout but ... errrrr !

They tell me Brad Ottens is worth millions and that Ben Holland is a go to forward. They gave a creditable impression of StoneHenge - what a bunch of logs ! Hotten was running off and then when Holland went back ... fumble city. Daffy had Hulme tagging him and still couldn't get a kick and the work of Bourke out of defence - I suggest some work in the ball bouncing department.
Those old timers SOS and Mackay totally stitched up the backline , and even Brendan Travolta grabbed 4 goals ! ( He is a great trade swap option ).
Those heartbreak Tigers ... time to work on the car, the lawn and the leg spin bowling.

I sat with some great Tiger fans who had all their kids ( even babies ) in tow. One day they can have something ELSE to talk about besides Clay, Barrot and Bourke ! It's like BSA going on about Bob Pratt !
