If we'd kept Kennedy we would have had an excellent goal kicker...but possibly would still not be rid of the negative culture around the club. Juddy dragged us up from the bottom of the ladder and turned us into a much more professional unit. Would not reverse that trade for the world.

Still love watching Kennedy play though, I enjoy it when he does well.

If we kept Kennedy, there is every chance that fev would have smashed him like he smashed Carlos.

But looking back at the trade, it was out of Kennedy, Bower or Fev to get Judd.

I still think the trade was absolute win-win. If Kennedy had stayed at Carlton, with all reports of the club being a bit of a shambles, who knows how far his development would have gone. Carlton got a player who lifted the professionalism of the club markedly, which it desperately needed and Judd got the leadership challenge he was probably looking for. West Coast got a player they needed and Kennedy got a professional club which allowed him to flourish and be the best he could be.

Not sure I'd refer to West Coast as professional given the massive drug problem that swept through the club

The trade was always going to look lopsided long term. That's just what happens if you trade an older player for a younger player. When the older players starts naturally slowing down, the younger player looks like the winner.

It would've been the same had Fev played for Brisbane for a couple of years. At first Brisbane would've looked like the winners, but long term Lachie would win out as he would've been playing when Fev retired.

When Juddy retires, there will be those that say we lost the trade, simply because Kennedy is still playing. But it's simply not true. Judd's influence cannot be measure by onfield success.

Slow going for injured Reid
Reid is yet to play a game this season after injuring his calf in a practice match against Gold Coast on March 2.

"Unfortunately it looks like he'll be available (in) round 11 AFL, which is actually a bye in the reserves (VFL)," Magpies football manager Rodney Eade told collingwoodfc.com.au.

Good thing they replaced Buttifant with a High Performance Manager who would get Reid back on the park before round 11.:p

Thought Tommy was indestructible, big loss.
You just thought Tommy would go on and on , one of the greats. Loved his enthusiasm for the game and the players.
Just sick of hearing another person succumbing to cancer :(
