You being quick to explain away Fevs claims as being due to promoting a book is cynical at best, it's equally likely that he denied it in 2007 due to being on the clubs payroll at the time. Basing things on knowns would be acknowledging the claim rather than trying to discredit it.
What you are suggesting is that the comments made by Fev after the Collingwood game in 2007 are disingenuous because he was "on the club's payroll", yet the comments he made recently carry more weight because he is no longer on the payroll.

The problem with this whole premise of tanking, in relation to Fev in the latter part of 2007, is that some people fabricate what they believe to have been the case e.g. Fev was removed from the ground for the last 10 minutes of the game in question because he was winning the game off his own boot (some of the worst liars have suggested it happened against Essendon, even though Fev only had 7 disposals that day & kicked no goals, there are also those who have inflated the number of goals Fev kicked in the Collingwood game), yet as ODN has pointed out on a number of occasions, the reality was he was off the ground for less than 2 minutes against Collingwood & he stated after the game he was experiencing issues with a quad. Fev has tried to rewrite history to generate some attention, as only Fev can, yet some prefer to give credence to what is nothing more than an off the cuff/flippant remark made to draw attention to his book.

There should be no suggestion that a "more thorough investigation" might bring forth some substantive evidence of deliberate tanking by us in 2007. The best anyone has been able to produce, despite regular revisiting of this issue, is still Libba's feeling & a flippant remark made by Fev, years later. Surely if there are others out there who have actual evidence of a directive for us to tank in 2007, they would have come forward by now, because we have turned over a significant part of our coaching panel, playing list & football department since then & you would think there would be the odd disgruntled ex-employee among those who have been moved on in that time.

Not at all, ODN said that he deals with known truths and not cynicism, that was my reponse to him disregarding Fevs claims due to it being apparently being done to promote a book..
Either way, as I've stated I don't believe we tanked anyway. We were just a very poor side, I watched us get thumped often enough to have that well and truly entrenched in my mind.
ODN does a fantastic job in regards to flying the flag for our club in the face of the seemingly unending waves of trolls on the main board/here. :thumbsu:

Not you personally. Just if people think our situation is comparable to Melbourne's, then there is debate to be had.
There is nothing like the cut and thrust of a decent debate... especially when you have a hand full of knives and they are running away from you :p

But I think that the whole Carlton are cheats thing ran it's full course about 4-5 years ago. Now, we are getting back to being a decent side once more they want to keep trying to kick us.

Ben Hudson set to join Collingwood as a rookie ruckman

JOURNEYMAN Ben Hudson's playing days aren't over with the veteran ruckman set to make a second comeback in as many years - this time at Collingwood.

The Pies today announced they wanted to draft the 33-year-old on December 11 after he announced his retirement from AFL for the second time in as many years.
But Collingwood has signed Hudson as a ruck coach for 2013 and has applied for AFL permission to add him to their rookie stocks.

Over on the St. Kilda board there is strong word that Winmar has been delisted.

All draft picks & players traded in during 2009 are now all gone.

Ouch.

Why wouldn't they just re-rookie Wood?

They are looking for a back up for Jolly, and the back up they are chasing is 34.
Wood is a spud but there is a big chance both Hudson and Jolly could be in the old folks home by Round 16, leaving Grundy to ruck the finals.

Collingwood must have major concerns over Jolly.

Grundy should play 5-10 games next year but Witts and Gault have both turned 20 - time to throw them in the deep end, methinks.
Not necessarily, they may just be after a bit of veteran depth so they don't have to rush Grundy/Witts development.

I'd have thought the same about Hudson this year but he almost single handedly supported Brisbanes ruck division on his own this season and did a pretty decent job of it i thought. Handy to have in case of emergency.

how is the hudson situation work via the salary cap??? he's a "rookie" yet also the collingwood ruck coach
Surley his entire wage would need to be included in the salary cap. Other wise we should just rookie Judd, Murph and Gibbs and offer them coaching roles.

So, that's behind the speculation about Judd relinquishing the captaincy. ;) Judd to become playing coach for season 2013. Malthouse steps aside to become director of coaching!

Unless we plan on making Judd midfield coach to get around Eddie squealing about the Visy deal
Sticks must go hard at this - Hudson supposed ruck coach is just trying to get around salary cap
