Just read the EQ article.

WOW! Putting all together like that... just awesome entertainment.
The twists and turns are just made for a Hollywood movie.
There is Dodgy-ness
There is Greediness
Stupidity features predominantly
Lies, lies and more lies
There is also complete laziness (how did an email with "delete this email" resurface?)

But just when you think you know it all... then Sydney enters the frame! The balls on them to demand Adelaide take on Jesse White! and then ask for 2 late draft picks! So Blackmailing features heavily too! (Sydney must get looked at)

Also starring Crazy Vossyness!

Must say, EQ is in a league of her own. However such information available to a journo, to this much detail...the AFL need to call a plumber soon cause they have a gashing leak!

Oh how I just love how this has all panned out! For Adelaide to get ****** over when all they had to do is not so incredibly greedy on the trade when Crazy Vossy came to the party! The ultimate satisfaction after the Jacobs trade!

The Herald Sun is the official 'bugle' of the Collingwood Football Club. The minute they start tipping buckets on the Magpies their circulation will drop substantially.
Not sure about the veracity of her recent claims, but it's awfully interesting that we haven't heard anything about Swan's fight at the races on Emirates Day. o_O

Nothing like a story about Tippett & the Crows and Judd & Visy to cover this up.

I wouldn't mind betting Wilson has Eddie's quiet approval to run with this, particularly considering his measured response to her article.

Publically name and shame Swan and put on notice any other Pie for that matter to add weight to the club's stance that they're out of order under the guise of a 'league wide' issue that needs to be sorted.

Collingwood know they're not the only club with this issue and are happy to take the 'assistance' in getting it out in the open.

Take Henderson out of the equation and we're still miles in front.
Pfft Henderson was superfluous to their needs. They had Brown, Bradshaw and Fevola, and Henderson decided his chances were limited so he would put his hand up for the trade. They had leverage, there was nothing we could do. :(

Callum Bartlett delisted by the Lions...reckon that swings the Fev trade in our favour now.
Surprised by this. Emma Quayle felt that Bartlett could still make it by playing as a small forward.

They must have their eye on someone. Hope it's Kurt Tippett.

Cross everything that Menzel doesn't have similar knee problems.

The Kurt Tippett thread on the Adelaide board is almost at the 25K post mark with almost 850K views and yet we're none the wiser to what will happen to him.

I doubt that all the collective Fev threads, would have come anywhere close to these numbers.

this might read a little silly but are the Herald Sun more "tied up" with high level football personalities? leaving their journalistic integrity a little compromised?

Well maybe, they are certainly tied up with something maybe their own celebrity?

Afl media awards where dominated by the age for good reason, just second rate

Reads like a fairly harsh but necessary punishment to me. .. What they did does not compare to what we did and they're affectively been locked out of the first and second rounds of three drafts. ..
The blows locked themselves out of this years draft in an effort to appear contrite and resigned to their punishment. IF they do get locked out of the next 2 drafts then it's fair justice to all. If they dont get a hefty wack of a fine for their salary cap cheating AND their draft tampering (the precedence is Essenscum getting fined 115k for draft tampering in the period 91-95) then the AFL is saying that whoops... we screwed up with Carlton so we arent going to punish anyone quite so badly again even though it's the precedence for future guidelines.

In 2002 it was the third time we'd been caught playing on the wrong side of the salary cap. .. part of our punishment was a carry over from our second incident and part of it was because we'd been repetitive. .. Couple that with the fact the AFL had given us the opportunity to come clean for a lesser punishment and we continued on then it was somewhat understandable if a tad over board. .. To suggest that what the Crows have done isin anyway comparable to the three infringements that we were caught for is a tad overboard. ..

The AFL stated that any future clubs caught breaching AFL rules in relation to Salary Cap or the Draft would be treated as harshly if not more harshly. The premise being any club stupid enough to break these rules in the future regardless of whether they were "first offenders" or the breaches were not "systemic" deserved to be wacked.

In 2002 the AFL used us as an example to the rest of the league about what would happen to clubs in the future if they got caught systematically rorting the salary cap. Adelaide knew what the potential punishments were and still went ahead with it anyway. They also ignored the precedence set in the punishment of Essendon for draft tampering by including the clause of trading Tippett to wherever he wanted to go for a minimum second round pick. If their punishment doesnt come close to what ours was, then the AFL can be accused of backsliding on the precedent that they set when they punished us.

Also, in 2002 after all the salary cap rorting came to light at Carlton we reacted rather dramatically. We got rid of the administration that was behind all the under the table payments and replaced it with a board that went to the AFL with our books open and cooperated with them fully. We instructed the players who were involved to come clean about everything and the only one who didnt was Fraser Brown.

The club was lead to believe that by cooperating with the AFL and clearing out the causes, we would be shown some leniency in our punishments. However... we ended up copping the full wack and it nearly killed our club.

Adelaide are in a much better position than we were in 10 years ago and can survive the big wack the AFL should hand out to them.

Tippett may miss half a season over cap breach

KURT Tippett is facing half a season out of the game after negotiations with the AFL neared completion on the eve of the commission's special hearing into Adelaide's salary cap misdemeanours.

Tippett is understood to have agreed to settle for a substantial suspension for his part in the draft and salary cap breaches that will also lead to Adelaide being removed from the first two rounds of next year's national draft and fined as much as $300,000.
Tippett is expected to be suspended for 10 to 12 home-and-away games as a result of his plea, subject to approval of the proposed punishment by the AFL Commission on Friday. He is also likely to be fined.

Don't mind the punishment, I think we will look back and agree later on.

Locked themselved out of round 1 & 2 this year then two more years of round 1 & 2. Arguably they have free agency to top up the list, but that could leave a pretty big hole in their list in 5-8 years. We all know the draft is calculated gamble, but potentially missing out on 6 quality kids in 3 years will hurt.

The fine of $1mil wouldn't hurt a club as big as Adelaide anywhere near as much as it hurt us so the $300k is just a kick up the backside as they walk out of AFL HQ

No they didn't, they traded their 2nd rounder, gave up their 3rd with their 1st.
They did also lose Tippett for nothing, you have to factor that in.

Which means of course that Sydney will get him for nothing, as I predicted from day one, and I can't understand why more people aren't outraged by this...

If the infamous get-out-of Adelaide to club of choice clause was adjudged to be draft tampering, as it has been, and Sydney used that clause as gun to Adelaide's head to get him not just for a low draft pick, but also forcing them to take an overpaid spud off the Swans hands and give up later draft picks to the Swans, the WHY IS THAT NOT ATTEMPTED DRAFT TAMPERING BY SYDNEY?????????
