Just reading on the afl website the deliberate out bounds against krooz was given a correct call by umpires boss haydyn Kennedy . Seriously what the hell!!!! Krooz grabbed the ball and just wanted to clear it out of their forward line we were under the pump at the time and was just an attempt at clearing to try and relieve the pressure , never mind that the kick was hurried and may have come off the side of the boot and on the bounce taken a beeline for the boundary and when nearly at the line the balls almost stopped and in actual fact McIntosh could of grabbed the ball but instead chose to let it go over the line . Of which Kennedy in his summation has said that if a player shepherds the ball over the line that that is irrelevant and ok its about the intention of the kicker . Seriously got to wonder about people in charge of our great game . I like the intention of the rule but as always the adjudication of it correctly is somewhat askew . If the photo in the article of krooz is the play in question have a look at the ball drop no wonder it ended up out of bounds haha .
When they have to come out and justify that a decision was correct you know that it is a load of crap. If the decision was correct why would you have to justify that the correct decision was made? This ruling will change throughout the year as it is a poor look for our game where a players shepherds a ball over the line, is he not in a position to make the play?
A GWS or GC player on the weekend did the same thing, however the ball stayed in and the opposition ran past him and picked up the ball before it went out making him look like a dek.

Damien Hardwick says Tigers are treating last week's win over Carlton as a loss. Deledio and Maric won't face Pies. Grigg will play. AFL

Interesting, nice and polite.
Get stuffed Hardwick, you managed a win, move on you clown.

If you look at the footage in that article, he actually looks like he has to pull the kick at the last second to avoid kicking it into one of our players standing directly in front of him.

Yes I saw that one was hilarious! No doubt as is every year the interpretation of many rules changes from the start of the season to completely different by seasons end . They never admit it but it's like the umpiring fraternity have a rule or several of the month that they clamp down on then totally relax that interpretation even just a few weeks later .

Just had a look at the other teams for the round.

Interesting that even without Cameron and McCarthy both Tomlinson and Patton were named on the extended bench, neither a sure bet to play, and Stewart was dropped, so their forest of talks seems to have thinned somewhat.

And Craig Bird can't make the Essendon best 22. He must feel like crawling into a dark cupboard and staying there weeping.

Be great to see a Victorian club other than gee long or hawthorn win the big one . Collingwood Richmond and haha * no chance think the bullies are a genuine chance this year even tho yes they are a little light on quality key forwards . But gee are they exciting or what to watch .
Maybe I'm just at the wrong time but no club seems to be pumping themselves up the way The Dogs are right now.

Every kid is a star.....will become a star......the coach is the best in the league.....etc etc

They seem to be making more noise than Richmond (with double the membership) can muster.

Like it or not, they are a genuine contender. Have had the feeling all pre season that they will
surprise the footy world and do a Hawthorn circa 2008.

Their depth of genuine young talent is amazing, hardly missed with a draft pick for the last few years.
Young players like Biggs, Adams. even Hamling who can't get a game at the moment bought from
obscurity. Love Bolton, but Beveridge actually has runs on the board. Signs are there that Boyd will
"click" soon too. Big Will AA couple of years back, and 3rd in line .

Bontempelli, Liberatore, Wallis, Dahlhaus, Macrae, Stevens, Hunter, Daniel, Dunkley, old timers Picken
and Boyd (if needed), as well as a couple of others form a great young midfield which will be around for
a decade. They play one genuine KPF in Boyd or Redpath who double as 2nd ruck. Stringer the hybrid and
the likes of Dickson, Dahlhaus, McLean, Hunter rotating through form the nucleus of a very effective
forward line. Showing the way for non traditional forward set ups. (Charlie Curnow and Jack Silvagni
will be our nucleus with big Harry - surrounded by athletic types who can go through the midfield)

They are the real deal.

Geelong are going to start to look good also.....Port should be as should GWS with their given talent.....and then there's Melbourne who still have Brayshaw, Petracca, Weideman, Dawes & Lamumba to come back into their team.

Just saying that right now Dogs supporters (many from what I see...and hear) seem to be pumping up everyone and anyone that takes the field (AFL & VFL)...They haven't a weak link is seems. They may not but it's the noise I'm talking about that seems to be louder than any teams...Collingwood included.

Hard not to see a lot of similarities in Richmond and Carlton 2009-2012

The coach has been given a contract extension but is clearly out of his depth.
The coach believes his few stars and bulk meat & potatoes will return a flag, just the way Ratten did with Judd, Murphy, Gibbs at one end of the spectrum carrying the likes of Joseph, Davies, Ellard etc. at the other end.

Hardwick would be scratching his head right now and if Gale starts distancing himself from any association.....well, we know what's on the cards.
