Yeah there were some dodgy inclusions for sure, the idiots couldn't possibly justify thier selection of NicNat and Rioli and keep a straight face, but I mean in terms of the whole line up, out of those that missed out, which team would you put together to take on their AA team?
Didn't the premiers play them in the pre season a while back?

Maybe this should be the internationl game, the AA team Vs the premiers, or have a mid season game. Maybe pick an AA from all the comps and have a mid season carnival, round robin thing. Give them a shit load of $$ to make it worth their while to play.

Geezuz numbers lock it up.

They have lost any credibility they may have had............was that Darcy I saw up front, so he is a judge??

Did they ever have any credibility esky

AA Selection panel : -
Andrew Demetriou, Adrian Anderson, Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Danny Frawley, Gerard Healy, Glen Jakovich and Mark Ricciuto.

Quite a few god players in the panel, even a few greats. But not dead sure on their credentials as students of the game.

Personally think the AA team should be decided by the coaches association. Do it post-finals, get them to cast ballots for the squad, then have a meet and greet where they debate the merits.

I am sure that they deliberately court controversy because by naming players that the general public does not think are deserving sends a clear message that they know better and how stupid we must be to disagree with their expert opinions.

Eddie Betts is so much better than Stephen Milne it is ridiculous.

It's also the same panel that voted for MOTY & GOTY last year except Leigh Matthews was a selector last year & Gerard Healy has taken his place this year.

Walker was robbed !!!!!

Goals + Goal assists
Milne (56+19=75)
Betts (48+25=73)
....so basically the same.

Betts leads Milne in....
tackles (+15)
clearances (+14)
contested marks (+5)
disposals (+11)
contested possession (+48)
1%ers (+5)
disposal effeciency (+13%)
and less clangers (-30).

Major lulz with the Sheepdog from Arden Street having his appeal squashed and he's going to miss the first 6 weeks of the 2013 season. Dirty little sniper that deserves everything he gets.
I have no serious problems with roo boy getting the 6 weeks... pity it wasnt longer... about 8 should have killed his career I think

That's what I'm talking about Aph. I will never forget the smug look of superiority on Luke Darcy's face when Stephen Quartermaine, to his credit, took Darcy to task for awarding MOTY to Kraks instead of Walker. What a waste of fresh air that man is.

I also remember in a preseason game last year Darcy saying flat out that Walker did not have the footy smarts to play in the forward line, and proceeding to bag him throughout the match. Must have dented Darcy's ego to be proved so wrong by the end of the season.

The football media is the most egotistical and unaccountable section of the press by some margin.

Doesn't mean he should be in AA side.
Rioli at his best is freakish, but he only delivers in cameos. somehow the football commentariat have gone from saying that he needs to do more to saying that because his best is freakish that is all that he needs to do.

Maybe they are right but I don't think so. I think that they are so dazzled by his flashes of brilliance and reputation that the reality of his contribution week in week out is ignored.

AA? No way.

Rioli and NicNat are flash in the pan players. In fact, I will label them as minute men. It may have been a good minute, but at the end, you're left asking, "Is that it?!"

I don't think anyone expected Walker not to win. The poor guy unfortunately stuffed up and didn't do jail time before he took the mark.

Hi Everyone, does anyone know what has happened to Parrot? He/She hasnt been on BF since the 14th May, always look forward to reading Parrots posts especially in the lead up to playing Richmond and Collingwood. Thought this thread would be the best one to ask if anyone knows what/why Parrot has disappeared. Thanks JnBs..

Most likely hibernating JnB but I am sure parrot will resurface close to Rnd 1 2013.

Is it because the press gene pool has been pissed in by employing ex-footballers instead of journalists because the majority of Footy fans think that just because some bonehead was able to kick a football he can organise his prose into a legible and quality format in the media?

Doesn't Parrot always disappear until it is time to bait the Richmond fans leading up to round 1? ..
