Problem is that wont wash with them. They'll put you in custody until they can work out your identity.

It's absolute hell appealing these things (and you are guilty as well )- my aunty got a parking ticket for Moonee Ponds shopping centre on Puckle st. She (and her car) was at work at the time. She has had to jump thru a lot of hoops thus far regarding it.... including getting video evidence of her at work ffs.

That happened to me once, I was walking back from the paper shop one morning and a car pulls up and two coppers jump out demanding to see ID. Turns out that there had been some burglaries in the area and the obvious suspect was the dude walking along the road reading the newspaper seemingly. I had no ID on me, I had just grabbed some change before I left, so they insisting on accompanying me back to my house in order to see some. Given that they were big strapping lads I didn't point out that the ten minutes that they'd wasted proving that I was who I said I was could have been better spent elsewhere, but it was a pretty futile exercise.

That is seriously unlucky. I jaywalked in front of a police car walking home from work once unknowingly until I got to the other side and thought I was lucky for not getting pinged even though there was nobody else waiting at the lights.

Edit: I am an idiot, I'm assuming even though the lights were red I wasn't actually breaking the law as there was no one else there apart from that officer.

Good to see the law finally being upheld by those responsible.

I never slow down for people crossing the road away from the designated safe areas (crossings). I actually speed up and swerve at them even if they are off the road. It's an ignorant arrogant act that should have its consequences.

Same with cyclists who aren't pushed right up into the gutter or in their lane.
