The lifestyle's pretty good in terms of weather and it's an attractive place with the beaches and in the background the forested escarpment, one good thing if you like cycling they've good cycleways here along the coast and you can also go up to the escarpment and look down on the coast which is cool. It gets a bum rap because of the Port Kembla Steelworks (which I must admit aren't the most attractive thing in the world though impressive due to their size) but elsewhere it's quite pretty.
The best part about the place is that everything's close compared to Sydney, the people are friendly and down-to-earth, and that it's not crowded. The downside is that there aren't as many attractions around being a small city yet it's got enough to keep you relatively busy and the good thing is that Sydney and all its big city attractions are only an hour (and a half) away.
Plenty of beach babes down here too which is always good
All in all it's a pretty good place, I'd give it a 7.5 - 8 out of 10.
