QT, anyone can beat anyone on there day, if your asking me how that side stacks up against Essendon, Carlton,Hawthorn and Brisbanes best, all things being equal Adelaide would lose 4 outta 5 times, I picked at least eleven players from that side that wouldnt get a game in Hawthorns best side. Cheers

richardson will be a dud, afl is too fast paced for him, he is fine in the sanfl but not in the afl.
any team with hewitt as their top CHF will struggle, byrne as a wingman.....not in the AFL !
no real quality ruckman, only good line is their back line,by the way its good to see the team named the right way unlike those vics who name it from the backlines !

I think that as a lsit of players they have at least as much potential as just about any other current list in the AFL.

I think that if you ask the group here in general, you will get some (or even many) who respond "crap" or similar. This is because Adelaide are an "interstate" side to many posters here, and as such the names on this list get nowhere near the publicity in states other than SA as other players do.

To many footy followers, if they seldom hear a footballers name mentioned in media, that necessarily means that the footballer in question must be "crap". Of course, the truth is, that players name simply doesn't have any recognition. Welsh might get more goals than Tarrant or Holland, for instance, but wouldn't rate in many peoples estimation becuase Welsh's name doesn't appear as often in the papers they read.

In any even't though, aside from arguements about the strength or otherwise of the playing lists, its just as important how well the group works together as a team. Right now, Adelaides players need some work in this area.

The Crows will struggle. Their a bit like the Eagles at the moment. For both the Eagles and Crows, their best 10 or so players are as good as any 10 players at any club, but from there the quality of the players drops dramitacally.

Bassett-Robran-Ricciuto-Hewitt-Richardson is one of the worst goal to goal lines I've seen. Biglands and Clarke are hardly the most inspiring rucking duo in the competition. Smart, Jarman and Bickley are a year older. McLeod is now the only true star in the team.

I've got no barrow to push re "interstate" sides, but I think that's a very ordinary line up. Put St Kilda's best 22 next to it, and I think 80% of people here would choose the Saints over the Crows.

I was a neighbour of Adam Richardson for many years and he is a really good bloke and he can play footy too. He dominated the local leagues over here, then went and dominated your shitty Snaffle. The guy is yet to play a game, so how can you call him a dud?
He spent time on our Supplementary list while Ayres was coach, so it may be an indication that he holds him in high regard. I wish him well.
As for the side, crap on paper, crap on field. My judgements will only change if they beat us.

i dont beleive that
the crows are like the eagles of the last 6 years, i often thought the same thing as the guy who started this thread, that thier best team could beat anyone, but for the first time since 94 the eagles actually have depth, amazing as it seems, and can cover the losses of quite a few players without disrputing anything,
there are only about 7 players on the whole list who arent afl level, and 3 of them were drafted last year, 1 is useless and the other 3 are still developing

Watched him at North, the bloke is a dud. A full-forward who can't kick, good recruiting, Crows! Any further out than about five or six metres and this fella couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.
