For what's it worth I'm going Melbourne and Essendon but I'm not telling you the margins in case Arch undercuts me (hehehehe) - Arch, it seems we are destined to go head to head all friggin year.

Cheers
Dutch

PS. PF tickets sorted - MCC guest tickets via the backdoor via a mate's dad.... phew... long way to come for no viewing pleasure..
PPS. Lids been on all year but I feel I cannot surpress a quiet: CARRRRRRN THE DONS!!!!!!!!

What I want to happen:
Carlton win by a point again but in the process every player gets knocked unconsious, just after belting an Essendon player.(Enough for a 1 week suspension just in case they come out of their coma)
North by 10 points with Carey resting on the bench for most of the game for Grand Final safe keeping.

What will happen:
Essendon by 80 points
Either Melbourne by 50 points or North by 5 points depending on whether North turn up or not.

Carlton by 11 pts

Melbourne by 28 pts

I pick the Blue and the Dees at the end of the H&A games. Lets just hope my prediction is correct!!!!!

Surely the football gods will ensure that it is Melbourne-Essendon

Of the 4 possible combinations, this is the only one that is fair.

Imagine if a team which lost by 125 points made it. Or imagine if a team that has only lost one game didn't make it. Or worse, imagine if both North and Carlton got through. Who would care ?

It has to be Melbourne/Essendon. Please, Oh please. For the sake of sanity.

My predictions

Essendon by one point
16.6.102
13.23.101

Melbourne by about 5 goals. Similar to the 1997 Preliminary final betwen the Saints and the Kangas

Go Bombers.

I'll be in the AFL members. Probably third deck, or maybe the top deck. It's either going to be the best day in my life, or the worst day in my life.

Dan,

I totally agree, it should be a Bombers V Demons GF. All hell is going to break lose on this BB, IF the Bombers lose and the North win.

As I said before, I only picked the blues and the Dees this week because I picked them three weeks ago.

Well, Essendon easily (this game is what the whole season's been about), but I just hope they don't wear themselves out for the following week. Melbourne are a very good team, who will run over the top of North.

Dutchy- 5 from 6 actually, since I changed to Carlton a couple of hours before bouncdown in week 1

(I'd be killing you all if I hadn't

with an extra 196 points)

PS- I see you finally worked out my secret. I can pressume it's safe with you?

Essendon 38 points, Melbourne 13 points.
Is it just me or did anyone else feel that last nights talking footy was only interested in the Roos & Carlscum. I watched the whole show thinking I would get to hear about the other two teams in the finals, but alas it didn't happen except for a brief mention of the Dees by Sheehan.

CJ,

You're right there. All hell is going to break lose on bigfooty if North and Carlton win this week.

It's going to be mayhem.

In fact I think it's going to be mayhem on here if "either" North or Carlton win.

I go to the GF every year, but if it's North/Carlton, I'm definately not going. What the f*ck is a North/Carlton Grand Final going to prove ?

Dutchy,
my brissy tip cost me. Think it may have been wishful thinking more anything.

im sad to have dropped to 5th though. dammit.
(well done EF- havent you jumped !!!)

Sunday would be cool, hopefully itll be a celebratory (and anticipatory) drink.
- but i should be in the city most of GF week, so any times kewl really. (maybe see you inside the G on sat'day even ???)
anyway- Ill email you soon- so check your hotmail.

cheers.
A.

CARNNNNNNNN THE BOMBERS !!!!!!!

If that is how the cookie crumbles... The Premiership Winner... What they all play for... not a record score in a final... that could be your theory for next year, the team that wins by the most in the season, is the Premier.

Yeah Talking footy was crap last night, spent half the show on Bris. a third on the Blues and the rest on the Hawks and Roos. I was glad that Matthews said Heuskas let the whole team down, had to be said.

What was that "Master Plan" from Blighty to beat the Bombers: "um well flood their forward line and um push Hotton down back". Pretty wishy washy stuff, still, they did rush through it because it was time to wind up.

For what it's worth, I think the Dees by about twenty points. The Roos will find it hard, as the fresh Dees will run them ragged and if their close to the Roos at 3 quarter there'll be no stopping them. For the Roos to win they'll have to put 'em away early.

Even though there's a little voice way down deep inside me saying "this season's too good to be true, they'll **** it up some how, just you wait", I have faith in our boys. Their talent, hunger and poise all of which are in greater supply than Carlscum's, should pull 'em through. It ****ing better, or I may get Chopper Reid out of retirement for a couple of final hits, depending on who stuffs up.

Bombers by 6-8 goals

Cheers.

BOMBER BLITZ IN 2000!

I think Essendon will be too strong for Carlton particularly with them being without Koutoufides and Silvagni. Essendon by 19
And Melbourne will have too much pace for the Roos by 23, thanks largely to a six goal final quarter by Jeff Farmer after being benched for most of the match.

Since ive been so bloody awful so far in my tips for the finals series im loathe to say but here goes.

Dons in a THRILLER by about 15-20 points but i reckon it will be close all day until the Bombers take control late in the game to stitch it up.

Sorry Roos fans, but Melbourne impressed me more that anyone the Hawks met this year (except you know who) and i have a feeling that we may have taken more out of you from fridays game than has been admitted. I think the Dees might run away with it after a close first half but the Roos wont have anything left in the tank when the 2nd half gets going. Dees by about 40 points.

But like i said the way im going, ive probably just done a good thing to the Roos and Blues

I fully expect someone - probably a ageing fringe player like Brown - to try and take Hird out (TIm Watson/Colin Robertson style) in the first 30 seconds. Hope this doesn't happen but we are talking about Carlton here who will be desperate to hold onto their 16/15 flag lead...

Ah, I'm hoping that the Rooboys will continue on in their efforts to emulate the legendary "Lazarus with a triple bypass" premiership of the '98 Crows.

Essendon to do to Carlton what they did with North. Hopefully the Bombers will win by one point more than the margin against North. On the other hand, it might be fun to see a close match just so I can keep a bemused eye on the Arch-man shitting himself thoughout the match.

By the way, the omen of the week. The team that has knocked out Brisbane in the finals series has always gone on to win the Premiership. There was Carlton in '95, and North in '96 and '99......maybe it won't be all clear sailing, hey Bomber fans?
