Okey Signs One Year Deal With Southern Dragons
Craig Hutchison
Okeydoke7 has dramatically signed a one year deal with the Southern Dragons on the same day as narrowing his choices down to three. Okey's fallout from the Demons continues, leaving due to a desire to be involved in finals football and win the league goalkicking.
The Dragons were one of the last to inquire about Okey's future yet captain LJP managed to deliver the best offer. "To be able to spearhead a team with a bright future, with a dual Mobbenfuhrer medallist and with an EKA medallist, is an exciting prospect."
Okey has farewelled the Demons faithful and thanked them for their support in building his career. "To the Demons, I am sorry it has ended this way. I understand the feelings you are having towards me right now, but hope that in due course you will realise that what I have done was best for all parties. It take some water to flow under the bridge before this is realised."
Okey is proud of what he has achieved at the Demons and is understood to now be comfortable leaving the Demons in a more stable environment. "Stability has been restored, and now I will move on and end the turbulence. They can look to their bright future, and I can look to mine."
The Hawks made strong offers from Okey, but Okey is excited at the prospect of building a third powerhouse to match the Bombers, Hawks rivalry.
The Demons, Bombers and Dragons will play in a round robin practice tournament in weeks which will see Okey face up against his old team.
