this is inspired by silent alarms post in the old vfl/afl grounds thread about the soccer ground in scotland that is now abandoned but some guys on youtube found all of these old documents there.

have you ever stumbled across some football gold at an old vfa, vfl or afl ground? under seats or in a box that had been left in a corner for ages, or anything like that?

also - when waverley park closed, i have been told that fans jumped the fence and practically took what they could, openly unhinging signs etc. with the security not minding one bit. do you remember this? did anyone visit waverley in the 1-2 years after it closed when it became a ghosttown? what was it like? the car park was so big, was it all fenced off? was anyone inside? what did you see and what could you access? it would have been an amazing experience. yes i have seen the awesome YT video filmed by the guy in 2000, but wondering if anyone else did something like that?

and those artifacts and the like also include things that may have gone when the mcg was redeveloped [think of all those signs] and even now with those old posters of footballers and cricketers from the 90s in the southern stand..where have they gone?? would be cool to see them auction them off or even put them back up. it's history. even things like the old scoreboards.. surely parts of them could have been kept or restored? you can't make everything plastic and fake.

When they demolished the old western stands at Adelaide Oval they auctioned of a lot of the old stuff. Can't find what was on the list but it was old signs, some of the old cream wooden bench seats, carpets from the committee room and stuff like that.
